About Mahatma Gandhi

The full name of the Mahatma Gandhi is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who was born on 2nd of October in the year 1869. He is commonly known as the father of the nation or Bapu. He died on 30th of January in the year 1948. He lived his life full of struggle as a political and spiritual leader of the India.

His key role in the independence of India is unforgettable by the people of India that’s why his birthday anniversary is still remembered by the people through many way of celebration. Bapu had developed his own techniques of non-violent protest for the independence of India. He named his non violent (ahimsa) protest as Satyagraha means the moral domination.

Those days he became famous for his non-violent social disobedience throughout the India and South Africa. He had started his non-cooperation movement of 1922 as well as the Salt Satyagraha or Salt (Dandi) March at 12th of March in the year 1930. Because of struggled efforts of Bapu and other freedom fighter the India became able to get its freedom on 15th of August in the year 1947.

The whole country was weeping when he was assassinated on 30th of January in the year 1948. The International Day of Non-Violence of the United Nations is held on 2nd of October as well in order to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.

He was the person of honor who had taught the Indian people to make their own clothe to wear. once the British government banned the supply of cloths in India in late 1800s and early 1900s, then Mahatma Gandhi thought that he must do something.

He felt that Indians never get independence until they make their own cloths and other necessary things of living. Bapu started encouraging the Indian people to make their own desi cotton cloth by using the traditional spinning wheels and looms of India. From that time the traditional hand spinning wheels and looms became the symbol of Indian independence struggle and life of Bapu.

Major Celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti in India

Three places in India are great and memorable where the birthday celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi take place:

> The place (The Raj Ghat at Yamuna’s bank) in the New Delhi where the body of Bapu was cremated on 31st of January in the year 1948.

> The place (Triveni Sangam) where all the three rivers named Ganga, Saraswati and Yamuna meets in Allahabad.

Subject:

Your support of the Indian Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence/Harmony Forum (SINHF) on September 21 and October 2 – the UN International Days of Peace and Non-Violence in Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta.

Dear Mr. Fyodor Rozovskiy,

Dear Directors of the RCSC branches in Mumbai and Calcutta

The GHA declared 2019 by the “Gandhi World Year” in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi birth in November 2018. GHA prepared and published in July a unique international peacemaking book/primer “Gandhica” by 82 co-authors (including 3 Nobel laureates and President of India) of 25 countries in Russian and English, 240 pages (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=848), which is distributed in dozens of countries worldwide. GHA created in January the International Jubilee Gandhi Committee, abbreviated GC, of 35 members from 18 countries (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=853).

Now, at the approach of the two culminations on this year UN dates, which are of particular value for world peace: the 150th anniversary of the "Father of the Indian Nation" Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 - this is UN Non-Violence Day and UN International Peace Day on September 21, The GHA initiates in their commemoration the Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence/Harmony Forum (SINHF), primarily in India and Russia, as an example for all other countries. This Forum is also dedicated to the 75th anniversary of World War II, May 9, 2020 and UN Interfaith Harmony Week, February 1-7, 2020. The wide range of peacemaking and cultural meanings of this event determines its global value and significance, which peace-loving state and non-governmental (religious, women’s, children’s, youth, cultural, sports and the like) organizations cannot neglect.

The GHA and its leading department, GHA-India invite you as the head of Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Center for Science and Culture in India) to actively promote a worthy celebration of these significant dates through the proposed Forum in three key cities of India: Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta where your branches are located and the GHA departments.

The GHA-Russia branch is preparing similar Forums in Russia, in St. Petersburg and Moscow with the participation of the Embassy of India in Moscow and the Consulate General of India in St. Petersburg. The GHA Russian initiative is presented in three GHA letters in the appendix: to the President of Russia Mr. Vladimir Putin, the St. Petersburg acting governor Mr. Alexander Beglov and the Consul General of India in St. Petersburg Mr. Deepak Miglani.

Organizing similar Forums in India and Russia is not a particular problem, but only if there is adequate political will to work for peace and support from the authorities at all levels. Without them, not a single NGO, including the GHA, is able to realize a similar event dedicated to a unique historical figure - Gandhi and the unique historical date of the Victory over fascism. Therefore, this event is possessing unique value in key spiritual and geopolitical senses: peacemaking, interfaith, cultural and diplomatic within the framework of public/people diplomacy as a joint activity of government and non-government organizations.

A unique and uniting spiritual highlight of the Interfaith Nonviolence/Harmony Forums could be the GHA collective book/primer “Gandhica” prepared during the year and published in Russia and India. It could be reprinted in an abridged version of 170 pages with small (1-2 pages) Prefaces by religious, political and civic leaders with the aim to gift it to each participant of these Forums for a deep scientific, philosophical and religious understanding of Gandhi’s non-violence, its competent development and application by each organization and state in building a peace-loving society. GHA conducts similar work, providing translation of the abridged version of Gandhica into French and Hindi. But the GHA possibilities are very limited here.

Therefore, we appeal to you with a proposal to republish this peacemaking book/primer in an abridged version (170 pages) in Delhi in English and Hindi with your Foreword by the circulation of 3-5 thousand copies to gift it to the participants of the SINHF in Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta on the indicated dates. Translation into Hindi and the publication of an abridged version of this book in English requires a modest cost of about 20 thousand dollars, which could be provided by your regular sponsors from two countries. This is the case when “the game is worth the candle.” Similar Forums can be held on an ongoing basis, make them the national tradition of India and Russia with a gift on each new spiritual book of religious, political and peacemaking leaders. You will become the pioneer of this great spiritual tradition in India. Why is this bad? Such Forums are useful to all people and all nations, instilling in them hope for a better, peaceful, harmonious and non-violent future. Doesn’t this really need the people's power and non-governmental organizations, and communities that serve the common good? This is a rhetorical question.

We are happy to present this book to you and hope for your understanding, active support and a Preface to it for its new publication in the near future.

Respectfully, Yours,

It is innovatively understood and fundamentally disclosed in our book that determines its scientific and peacekeeping uniqueness. A free-for-all example of this breakthrough is our initiative proposals of the Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence Forums in Russia and India, which supplant the “clash of religious civilizations” by interfaith harmony of Gandhian nonviolence on an ongoing basis. Details of the organization of these Forums in Delhi and St. Petersburg, see the annexes.

4.We ask you only about one thing - to support this initiative and recommend its implementation to other large cities of Russia, centers of constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the UN International Days of Peace (September 21) and Non-Violence (October 2). The organization of similar events is limited by scanty financing available to every city; however, your help in this regard would not be superfluous for them.

The colossal social and peacemaking significance of such unique events for Russia is self-evident. They will become an inspiring example for cities in other countries, including the United States, within the framework of the aforementioned international UN Days, uniting all the people of the planet. Of course, this initiative of Russia, launched in St. Petersburg, will find the undoubted support of the BRICS, SCO, CIS, UN and UNESCO. It will raise the world prestige of Russia as a peacemaking leader.

Gandhica” by 82 coauthors (including 3 Nobel Laureates and the President of India) from 25 countries in Russian and English, 240 pages (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=848). It is common in dozens of countries on all continents. Please, we ask you to set a date and time for a meeting with our delegation to transmit this book.

This book implements the ideology of Russia’s peacemaking breakthrough in science, governance, politics and business as articulated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Our book offers new breakthrough structures of integral management, new breakthrough digital technologies, new breakthrough business, but it has special significance for breakthrough harmonization of social relations based on the theory and practice of Gandhi non-violence in any country. A free-for-all example of this breakthrough is proposed below, which supplants the “clash of religious civilizations” with the interfaith harmony of Gandhian nonviolence.

2.We offer to the religious, cultural and peacemaking organizations of India to hold in Delhi, in the Lotus Temple (1300 seats) on September 21 – the UN International Peace Day, the All Indian Spiritual Interfaith Non-Violence Forum dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with a gift to each participant of this Forum the "Gandhica" book in English or in one of the languages of India.

3.We offer to the religious, cultural and peacemaking organizations of Russia (primarily St. Petersburg) with the Consulate General of India active participation to hold in St. Petersburg, in BKZ Oktyabrsky (3,700 seats), on September 21 - on the UN International Peace Day, All-Russian (or City ) The Spiritual Interfaith Non-Violence Forum dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with a gift to each participant of this Forum of the "Gandhica" book in Russian. We ask the City Government to support this extremely important event and to allocate a tiny amount in $ 15 thousands for its implementation to publish 4,000 copies of this book.

4.Similar Spiritual Interfaith Non-Violence Forum dedicated to the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we propose to duplicate with a new composition of invited participants on October 2 - the UN International Non-Violence Day, established by the UN on Gandhi's birthday with the urgent goal of “establishing a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence”, equally important for all countries, including India and Russia, which have long followed this path.

The colossal social and peacemaking significance of similar unique events for St. Petersburg is self-evident. They will become also an inspiring example for other cities of Russia, as well as for other countries within the framework of the aforementioned International UN Days, uniting all the people of the planet. Of course, such an initiative of Russia, launched in St. Petersburg, will find the undoubted support of the BRICS, UN and UNESCO.

Gandhica and Interfaith Harmony/Nonviolence Forums in Russia and India

in honor of the Gandhi anniversary and the Victory over fascism

Dear GHA members, Friends,

Many thanks for your approval of the letters to Russian President Putin, Governor of St. Petersburg and Consul of India. We did not receive a single objection, although there were interesting proposals, for example, to send a similar proposal to the leaders of the Vatican and the Orthodox Church. Perhaps we will do it.

Now I invite you to discuss and approve by your YES or NO another our letter within two days (we have very little time, but a lot of work) - to the head of the state organization Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Center for Science and Culture) in India, Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta

with the same proposal: support the Interfaith Nonviolence/Harmony Forum in honor of the Gandhi anniversary and the Victory over fascism in these cities of India. This letter complements our letter to President Putin (see attachment and here too: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=863).

The main subject of execution of this part of our project is the GHA-India and the GHA Gandhi Committee, which includes most of the GHA Indian members. Therefore, we are waiting responses and clarifying proposals from them first.

Because our Buddhist colleagues from Japan are silent, obviously, they are abandoning the role of leaders of interfaith harmony/nonviolence, I propose to rename our project from “Gandhica and Buddhism” to “Gandhica and Interfaith Harmony/Nonviolence” (GIHN). Do you agree with that? This title does not limit our universal project to one faith but applies to everything, as in previous GHA projects dedicated to interfaith harmony: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=541

We hope to your understand and implement this project not only in Russia and India, but also in other peace-loving countries, for example, China, Brazil, Ghana, Ethiopia, Greece, Japan, Malaysia and many others.
Best wishes for peace from harmony/nonviolence,
Leo,

Russia Gandhi Committee: Proposals to President Putin,

Governor and Consul General of India +++ your approval in two days

Dear GHA members, friends,

We have already reported on the “Gandhica” publication completion (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=788) in two languages and free distribution of its copies to dozens of countries and dozens of places inside India and Russia to its co-authors. Mr. Latif Kirmani, a publisher in Delhi, was particularly distinguished in its publication and worldwide mailing that we greatly appreciate and thanks. See his photo with it here: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=481 and above).

In this regard, the task of this unique peace book presentation arises at two key UN dates: on the International Days of Peace - on September 21 and of Non-Violence - on October 2 within special Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence/Harmony Forums around the world with a gift of our Gandhica book to each participant of these Forums.

Within the framework of the GHA International Jubilee Gandhi Committee, briefly GC, plan (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=853) I prepared the relevant proposals of the Russian GC for these dates to its President, Governor of St. Petersburg and the Consul General of India in St. Petersburg. Please, see these three brief letters in the attachment, and they are published together on the “Gandhi's Year Culminations” page here: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=863

We invite you to discuss and approve these letters by your YES or NO during two days (August 3 and 4), so that on Monday (August 5) I can send them to the recipients.

Their main meaning is to give each GHA member and each Gandhica co-author an example of its actual and very valuable advancement in any country, even in the most militaristic one - in the USA and in any city where there are different faith-based communities and where there are acute problems of interfaith and social harmony. Our Gandhica offers a breakthrough way to solve them through a harmonious Gandhian mass education (Gandhi Nonviolence School, 30 hours for any educational institution, Gandhica 175-177 p), relevant for all conflicting communities and social groups at any level.

I assume that many of you will doubt the success of our proposal in the prevailing militaristic atmosphere of power, rooted in traditional democracy. I well understand these doubts, which I share myself. But if we are responsible world citizens and responsible peacemakers, if we are true supporters of the Gandhi non-violence, religious Divine peace and true co-authors of our Gandhica, then we are obligated to fulfill our civic, spiritual and scientific duty, recorded in our books and charters. Our duty is to express our position, despite the position of the authorities, which, in a number of countries and cities, can support our peacemaking Gandhian initiatives. We have no right to ignore this, albeit a small chance, which we will test experimentally with our similar letters. This is better than tacitly and passively contributing to the growth of militarism, violence, hatred and hostility, the result of which is equally deplorable for all, without exception. Someone said well that indifference brings us to the enemies of peace making us its traitors.

We particularly hope for the support of active peacemaking religious communities, as well as women's, children's and youth organizations, more than others committed to peace and non-violence. We really hope for the public support of the most influential religious leader among the co-authors of Gandhica, Mr. Daisaku Ikeda, President of the International Buddhist Organization, Soka Gakkai International, which has branches in 192 countries and brings together more than 12 million Buddhists around the world. They are organizationally capable of initiating our proposals in many countries and cities, primarily in Tokyo and Japan in a whole, distinguishing by its peacefulness, as well as in India and other countries. Buddhists could become global actors and the organizing center of the Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence Forums around the world that would make them a global peacemaking leader of the 21st century, which now simply does not exist.

We, the GHA, hope that our example will find understanding, support and implementation of at least some peacemakers in at least several countries primarily in India and Russia.

Best wishes for peace from harmony/nonviolence,
Dr. Leo Semashko,
GHA Founder and Honorary President,

World Gandhi Year 2019

Geopolitical Culmination

http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=863

It is the meeting in the Kremlin of President Putin with the granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi - Ela Gandhi, with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, with the GC Nobel Peace Laureates and with the invitation of the US President Donald Trump on October 2, 2019 on the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi birth.

This meeting will acquire historical symbolic significance for the new century as a whole. It will be its supreme geopolitical symbol and its best symbolic capital, becoming a fundamental sign of recognition of the legacy of Gandhi's non-violence in the 21st century. If there is no similar meeting for any reason, if the leaders of the new century are unable or unwilling to meet to confirm their commitment to the values of non-violence and peace, this will make them symbols of violence, militarism and wars of the new century. What choice of history in this century will depend on them and how they will remain in history depends on these leaders, on their attitude to this meeting.

The proposal of this meeting was first formulated in a letter from the GHA Gandhi Committee of Russia to President Vladimir Putin on January 31, 2019: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=ru_c&key=803

-------------------------------------------------------

Mahatma Gandhi:

History Culmination and Humanity Turn from the Violence Realm/Civilization into
the Nonviolence Realm/Civilization of the Future

The past history is a civilization and a realm of violence with the prevalence and dominance in the life of most countries and peoples of wars, armies, militarism, dictatorships, terror, mass repressions, empires, militaristic democracies, etc. Mahatma Gandhi is the first political leader in violent history who, with his practical example of the non-violent liberation of India from British rule, showed the real possibility of an alternative realm - a civilization of non-violence, peace and harmony, the values of which are inseparable in a single process of life and sustainable development. Therefore, with Gandhi begins the historical turn of humanity from the realm of violence to the kingdom and the civilization of non-violence.

But this turn requires appropriate, non-violent and harmonious consciousness, thinking and the humanities, which could not arise in the reality of violence, but in which their many sprouts were born, integrable and synthesized in a spheral holistic and pluralistic tetranet thinking and consciousness. only such consciousness and thinking can penetrate and understand the deep spheral structural harmony of non-violence as the “law of the greatest force of mankind” by definition of Gandhiat the level of social genetics. only similar thinking and consciousness can systematically master social non-violence and transform it from an incomprehensible, intuitive, even if a brilliant, single historical find into everyday scientifically illuminated practice and the life reality of history at all levels from the individual and the family to the country and humanity as a whole. The systemic intellect of nonviolence begins with the sociocybernetic science and statistics of the spheres and employed in them spherons (spheral classes) of the social production of humanity at all its levels, starting with the individual, the family and the country.

Therefore, the attitude of each person and political leader to the non-violence of Gandhi and to its systemic scientific intellect is their attitude towards the fate of social non-violence, i.e. to the fate of the realm/civilization of non-violence of human history. In this regard, Gandhi's non-violence and its systemic non-violent scientific mind is a criterion, a measure of the ratings of all people, primarily political leaders, according to their key life vector and navigation to the realm of violence or to the realm of non-violence. This criterion can and should be evaluated by everyone, primarily all political leaders, from whose orientation into the realm of violence or non-violence the fate of peoples and the lives of hundreds of millions of people depend.
