Dr. Noor M. Larik (b. 1943) is a trained Statistician by profession. He obtained his Postgraduate Diploma from the Victoria University of Manchester (UK) in mathematical statistics, Master of Science in applied statistics from the University of Southampton (UK) and PhD in the burgeoning area of econometrics, also from the University of Southampton (UK).The field of econometrics, it may be stated, still assumes a respectable position amongst the statisticians and economists throughout the world.

Dr. Larik carries with him both teaching and ‘on the job’ experience in his field of specialization. Prior to joining COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Dr. Larik worked as Director General, Federal Bureau of Statistics as head of the organization, Ministry of Finance; Chief Statistician, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST); Associate Professor Al-Fatah University, Tripoli Libya; and Associate Professor, University of Sindh.

Dr. Larik has attended many national/international workshops and has presented many papers. Dr. Larik also conducted important workshops and seminars, both during his long service with the Government of Pakistan, universities and during his association with CIIT. The credit of organizing diploma and certificates for the government officials while CIIT was still in its embryonic stages goes to Dr. Larik. He also taught the advance concepts of Statistics and Mathematics to the CIIT graduates and Ph.D. students. He has also published popular research papers such as “Statistical literacy and its status in Pakistan” and “Impact of Internet on Individuals and society”. Together with his colleague, he has recently published a useful research titled “Forecasting Admissions in CIIT. Through this piece of work, the higher echelons of CIIT can assess the admission load in every semester and accordingly create necessary infrastructure facilities. He also submitted a paper titled “Fast growth of migrants urbanization in Islamabad has created many problems for the community” which was accepted and presented in his absence in the “World Congress International Conference” of ISI held in Brazil 2015.

Dr. Larik, along with his colleagues, lay down plan to establish Department of Statistics, Statistical Research and Analysis, Training and Consultancy Centre, which was approved by the Rector CIIT.

Dr. Larik worked as an Advisor Department of Mathematics (CIIT) until June, 2016.

Review of

Global Peace Science (GPS)… (2016)

By Noor Larik*

The book entitled “Global Peace Science” by Dr. Leo Semashko and 173 co-authors comprises of 13 chapters and 626 pages. The authors of this book are congratulated for getting it published at the right time, when people of the world are being leveled as disharmonious, terrorists, extremists and/or are being killed without any significant cause.

This book will be liked, I hope by many people, who are interested in global peace throughout the world. They will be benefitted by reading this book for gaining information/knowledge about methodology and its implementation for making harmony and peace at family, neighborhood, national and at the world level.

Although, topic “Peace” is very old but the book focuses on a topic “Global Peace Science” which is very new and will motivate many people to take this book as a foundation to undertake further research/development in this area, like many people undertook research for inventing more sophisticated military equipment for destroying societies. After reading and understanding the purpose of the book it will also help people join “Global Harmony Association” - it will also assist in developing various projects to bring peace and harmony and increase the number of participants in this noble cause.

The book also helps in enhancing knowledge of history, war and peace, its impact on humanity and its progress and growth of the society. It provides information about the famous actors who have played and devoted their lives in making this world a place of love and peace through their hard work.

My favorite topics in this book are Empiricism of Spherons and GPS, Global Statistics and Global Demography (Chapter 2), Global Peace Index on the basis of subjective scoring methodology (Chapter 4), Global Peace Laws (Chapter 5), Ways of Global Peace through Interfaith Harmony, Culture and Education (Chapter 7), Spirituality and Predictions by Galtung. It is suggested that wellbeing/happiness index of the society may also be included in future editions.

I particularly want to emphasize the importance and full scientific certainty in terms of the adopted methodology of the SPHERONS (universal harmonious classes of the population) statistical evidence at the level of a country Russia and at the global level and at the micro level of separate institutions (schools and universities) in Chapter 2. I would have liked to do a similar study of the Pakistan and India (for comparison) SPHERONS within this methodology in the future. This will be an unprecedented statistical research, which is extremely important for the development of a radically new information technology on the basis of universal topology of the spheral fractals for composition and ordering spontaneous sets of various statistical indices. This is a new development and new empirical proof for Global Peace Science. This science and its discovery of the constant classes SPHERONS is the Copernican Revolution of social thinking and sciences including sociology, economics and statistics.

This book is very useful for those who are interested in history, peace and harmony and knowing about the development of military which is responsible for wars and destruction of societies. It will also provide information about spheres of the society, institutions working in this area and the famous people who have devoted their lives in working on peace and harmony in the society. I have been highly motivated to assist in the noble cause of spreading peace after reading this book.

LectureS – SUMMARY

by

Dr. Noor Muhammad Larik

National Chancellor of Pakistan (IAEWP)

I.PLACE

Lectures on three (3) C’s, three (3) L’s and seven (7) T’s was delivered in province of Sindh, Pakistan at:

1.Shah Abdul Lateef University, Khairpur (14.3.2017)

2.Cadet College, Panno Aqil (17.3.17)

3.Gym Khana Khairpur (20.3.2017)

II. OBJECTIVE

The main objective of these lectures was to explain to the students and general public to follow the above mentioned C’s, L’s and T’s in order to avoid violence and adopt peaceful attitudes in society and in nation.

III. FORMAT

First, I would like to explain three C’s, i.e.,

a) C for Certitude Faith in one God, i.e. believing in the divine power which has its own plan. As humans we should try our best but certain things over which we have no power should be left to the will of God Almighty. When humans try to worry about things over which they have no power that often makes them resort to unfair means which brings them into conflict and violence in society. If all human beings believe in the ultimate divine power than most of the problems of disharmony/ violence shall be reduced.
b) C for Continuity. Continuity in social work, possibly helping the needy, poor and destitute; it should be continued which will set an example and influence others to do the same.
c) C for Consistency. one should be steadfast and adhere to principles and stick to harmony in behavior and approach.

The Three L’s

a) L for Love.Spread the message of love and peace by treating everyone with love and care and without any discrimination to bring about peace in societies.
b) L for Labor. one should work hard to earn good living and respect in society.
c) L for Learning. one should strive in learning from cradle to grave. Islam also emphasizes on continuity in learning from cr\to grave.

The Seven T’s

a)T for Time. Time is very important; one should utilize the time with care, and not leave today’s job for tomorrow; take right decision at the right time. one has to give an account of everysecond of life spent before Almighty Allah.
b) T for Talent. God has gifted every human being with some talent. We should explore our own talent and make the most of this talent.
c) T for Treasure. one should make the best use of the fortunes he or she has been gifted with. The fortune of wealth and knowledge should be spent in a manner that brings about change in life of others. Islam gives importance to resource distribution so that it is equally distributed amongst all humans.
d) T for Truth. one should be honest and truthful in dealings. The Prophet of Islam has emphasized very much on the value of honesty and truthfulness.
e) T for Trust. one should trust in others as it will enhance the bond of brotherhood
f) T for Tolerance. Tolerance is a very important characteristic for avoiding violence. Tolerance in religion and in other activities of life such as, economic matters, business activities, and cultural differences etc is important.
g) T for Travel. one should keep travelling in order to learn more about nature, different cultures and people. It will enhance the degree of tolerance and discourage violence. Also, shall enable people to understand each other and create interest in their problems in a better way.

Dear Noor,

Many thanks for your Summary, which was published on your personal page:

http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=722

It is interesting text but it requires a scientific theoretical classification, structurisation and generalization, which you will find in the Global Peace Science:  http://peacefromharmony.org/docs/global-peace-science-2016.pdf
Its Primer (30 pages): http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=423
But this is a very difficult, thorough and painstaking intellectual work.

Friendly,

Best wishes for peace from harmony of SPHERONS,

Leo
