My grandfather, Mahatma Gandhiji (1869-1948), was born in India and lived almost half his life in South Africa. He dedicated his entire life to liberating the global South, which includes both countries of his life, from colonialism, poverty, ignorance, oppression and violence. His historical achievement is the liberation of the Indian people from British slavery through nonviolence, without a single shot fired, without a single casualty and without a single drop of blood. This still remains an unattainable example and a mystery for the world leaders, parties and science.

Gandhi's legacy and experience live on in his many museums around the world, especially in his hometown of South Africa. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled it in Johannesburg BRICS summit, August 2023, speaking about our “Gandhi Development Trust” (GDT) and museum in the Phoenix settlement. It was created by Gandhi in 1904 on 100 acres, and he named it Leo Tolstoy Farm in honor of the great Russian writer who was the first to recognize Gandhi's ideas of nonviolence in 1909 that made his famous worldwide. on the farm place, in 2002, we created a Trust with a school for children, aimed at their education, to “promote the thoughts and values of Gandhi, the culture of peace, justice, nonviolence and the African humanistic philosophy of Ubuntu” as well as to support “innovative strategies " that is reflected on our websites [1] and in our newsletters [2].

However, Gandhi’s rich heritage is preserved and used clearly not enough.It is evident from the disastrous state of our museum/Trust. It is reflected in a number of publications [3; 4; 5]. But I want to focus the BRICS attention, first of all, not on the state of our museum, but on three examples of actual ignoring of the most important discoveries and ideas of Gandhi.

The great spiritual and political heritage of Mahatma Gandhi still remains not understood in its fundamental depth of natural social nonviolence. From him they well understood his word as a symbol of historical utopia and accident devoid of natural repetition. But they did not understand its conscious, scientific inevitability for the future, mature humanity and its spontaneous socio-genetic fundamentality in the past. Gandhi brilliantly expressed the social substance of nonviolence in a few phrases of deep meaning that has remained undisclosed and undeciphered to this day. Maybe I am mistaken due to insufficient knowledge of specialized, sociological literature but I do not know of any other attempts at scientific penetration into the social pattern of Gandhian nonviolence, except for the one. It has been developing for more than 18 years, since 2005, by the collective efforts of humanitarian scientists united in an international peacemaking organization "Gandhian Global Harmony Association" (GGHA). I cannot delve into the GGHA scientific analysis presented in its numerous books and articles available on its website [6], I will touch only on three examples.

Mahatma Gandhi wrote almost a century ago in 1935 “Nonviolence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction." [7] This phrase became the motto of the “International Day of Non-Violence” on October 2, Gandhi’s birthday, proclaimed by the UN at the initiative of India in 2007. However, why has humanity not mastered this “greatest force” for almost a century and has not used it to prevent the threat of nuclear self-destruction for almost 80 years after the invention and use of nuclear weapons, which has become the most dangerous today? Gandhi recognized ahimsa, non-violence as a “science” but why does it not exist almost a century later, why is it only the GGHA that develops it as a science? It is clear that the militaristic ruling circles do not want to know this nonviolent force and its science, which multiplies its power. But if BRICS recognises itself a global peacemaker in the Johannesburg Declaration [8], then how can its peacemaking strategy ignore this greatest discovery of the Gandhian heritage, which is revealed by the GGHA and proposed by it for BRICS?

Another example of Gandhi's untapped legacy. He not only defined non-violence by science, but also revealed its sociogenetic substance, which he saw in “Newton’s Law of Varnas” as the eternal law governing humanity. He writes: “Varna is not a human invention, but an immutable law of nature - the statement of tendency that is ever present and at work like Newton's law of gravitation. Just as the law of gravitation existed even before it was discovered so did the law of Varna... It is the law of life that governs all humanity... Varna has nothing to do with caste.” [9] Varnas - equal communities of the population of ancient, pre-caste India are, according to Gandhi, actors, subjects and the engine of humanity non-violence. Again, one can only be surprised that similar fundamental scientific idea remained unattended by scientists, except for the GGHA researchers, who not only developed the scientific theory of “varnas/spherons” as actors of non-violence and global peace, but also ensured its verification by world statistics [10].

The third example of Gandhi’s untapped legacy, which is extremely important for BRICS, lies in his thought “poverty is the worse form of violence”, that the traditional, unjust and exploitative economy should be replaced by the “economy of love and justice” of varnas/spherons. This can happen when the economy takes an equal, balanced position in the system of the four spheres of social production that Gandhi defines in any society. The dominant, “primary economy” of economics “that inculcates Mammon worship, and enables the strong to amass wealth at the expense of the weak, is a false and dismal science. It spells death. True economics, on the other hand, stands for social justice, it promotes the good of all equally including the weakest, and is indispensable for decent life.” [11]

We have drawn the attention of BRICS+, its leaders and scholars to just three fundamental examples of Gandhi's rich legacy untapped for almost a century. Mastering it is an inexhaustible well of innovative fundamental ideas and approaches for solving global BRICS challenges. They are especially significant for the development of his Gandhian scientific ideology, which began with the “Gandhian Spheronics for BRICS+”, which deserves its close attention and full support

Мой дедушка, Махатма Ганди (1869-1948), родился в Индии и почти половину жизни прожил в Южной Африке. Всю жизнь он посвятил освобождению глобального Юга, который включает обе страны его жизни, от колониализма, нищеты, невежества, угнетения и насилия. Его историческое достижение – освобождение народа Индии от британского рабства путем ненасилия, без единого выстрела, без единой жертвы и без единой капли крови. Это до сих пор остается недосягаемым примером и загадкой для мировых лидеров, партий и науки.

Наследие и опыт Ганди продолжают жить в его многих мировых музеях, особенно в месте его поселения в Южной Африке. О нем напомнил в Йоханнесбурге ПМ Индии Нарендра Моди, рассказав о нашем музее «Фонд развития Ганди (GDT)» в поселении Феникс. Оно было создано Ганди в 1904 году на 100 акрах, и названо им фермой Льва Толстого в честь великого русского писателя, который первым признал идеи ненасилия Ганди в 1909 году, чем обеспечил ему мировую известность. На месте этой фермы мы, в 2002 году, создали фонд со школой для детей, нацеленный на их просвещение, на «продвижение мыслей и ценностей Ганди», культуры мира, справедливости, ненасилия и африканской гуманистической философии убунту, а также на поддержку «инновационных стратегий», что отражено на наших сайтах [1] и в наших новостях [2].

Однако, богатейшее наследие Ганди сохраняется и используется еще явно недостаточно, что видно по бедственному состоянию нашего музейного фонда. Оно отражено в ряде публикаций [3; 4; 5]. Но я хочу акцентировать внимание БРИКС, прежде всего, не на состоянии нашего музея, а на трех примерах фактического игнорирования важнейших открытий и идей Ганди.

Великое духовное и политическое наследие Махатмы Ганди до сих пор остается не понятым в своей фундаментальной глубине закономерного социального ненасилия. От него хорошо усвоили его слово как символ исторической утопии и случайности, лишенной закономерной повторяемости, но не поняли его сознательной, научной неизбежности для будущего, зрелого человечества и его стихийной социально-генетической фундаментальности в прошлом. Ганди блестяще выразил социальную субстанциальность ненасилия в нескольких фразах глубинного смысла, который остался нераскрытым и нерасшифрованным до сих пор. Может быть я ошибаюсь из-за недостаточного знания специальной, социологической литературы, но мне неизвестны другие попытки научного проникновения в социальную закономерность Гандианского ненасилия, кроме той, которая более 18 лет, с 2005 года, развивается коллективными усилиями гуманитарных ученых, объединенных в международной миротворческой организации «Гандианский Глобальный Союз Гармонии» (ГГСГ). Я не могу вникать в этот научный анализ ГГСГ, представленный в его многочисленных книгах и статьях, доступных на его сайте [6], коснусь только трех примеров.

Махатма Ганди почти век назад, в 1935 году, написал, что «Ненасилие является величайшей силой в руках человечества. Она мощнее самого мощного разрушительного оружия.» [7] Эта фраза стала девизом «Международного Дня Ненасилия» 2 октября, на день рождения Ганди, провозглашенного ООН по инициативе Индии в 2007 году. Однако, почему человечество почти век не овладело этой «величайшей силой» и не использует ее, чтобы предотвратить угрозу ядерного самоистребления в течение почти 80 лет после изобретения и применения ядерного оружия, угроза которого сегодня стала наиболее опасной? Ганди признавал ахимсу, ненасилие «наукой», но почему ее не существует почти через век, почему только ГГСГ развивает его как науку? Понятно, что милитаристские правящие круги не хотят знать этой силы ненасилия и ее науки, которая умножает его силу. Но если БРИКС заявил себя глобальным миротворцем в Йоханнесбургской Декларации [8], то разве может его миротворческая стратегия игнорировать это величайшее открытие Гандианского наследия, которое раскрывается ГГСГ и предлагается им для БРИКС?

Другой пример неиспользуемого наследия Ганди. Он не только определил ненасилие наукой, но и раскрыл его социогенетическую субстанцию, которую он увидел в «Ньютоновском законе варн» как вечном законе, управляющем человечеством. Он пишет: «Варны - это не создание человеческого ума, а непреложный закон природы, … подобный ньютоновскому закону всемирного тяготения… Это закон жизни, который управляет всем человечеством… Варна не имеет ничего общего с кастой». [9] Варны – равные общности населения древней, до кастовой Индии являются, по убеждению Ганди, акторами, субъектами и двигателем ненасилия человечества. Снова приходится только удивляться, что столь фундаментальная научная идея осталась без внимания ученых, если не считать исследователей ГГСГ, которые не только развили научную теорию «варн/сферонов» как акторов ненасилия и глобального мира, но и обеспечили ее верификацию мировой статистикой [10].

Третий пример неосвоенного наследия Ганди, крайне важного для БРИКС, заключается в его мысли, «что бедность – худшее насилие», что на смену традиционной, несправедливой и эксплуататорской экономики должна прийти «экономика любви и справедливости» варн/сферонов. Это может произойти тогда, когда экономика займет равное положение в системе четырех сфер общественного производства, которые Ганди определяет в любом обществе. Господствующая, «первичная экономика», «построенная на поклонении мамоне, позволяющая сильным накапливать богатства за счет эксплуатации слабых, есть гнусная лженаука. Онапредрекаетмирусмерть.» [11]

Мы обратили внимание БРИКС+, его лидеров и ученых только на три фундаментальных примера неосвоенного и неиспользуемого богатейшего наследия Ганди в течение почти века. Овладение им – неисчерпаемый кладезь инновационных фундаментальных идей и подходов для решения глобальных проблем БРИКС. Они особенно значимы для развития его Гандианской научной идеологии, начало которой положено «Гандианской сфероникой для БРИКС+», заслуживающей его пристального внимания и всемерной поддержки.
