Power to the People Plan

My Power to the People Plan creates deep system change, moving from the greed and exploitation of corporate capitalism to a human-centered economy that puts people, planet and peace over profit.

It offers direct answers to the economic, social, and ecological crises brought on by both corporate political parties. And it empowers the American people to fix our broken political system and make real the promise of democracy.

This plan will end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy; and recognize the dignity and human rights of everyone in our society and our world. The power to create this new world is not in our hopes, its not in our dreams - its in our hands.

Key points of the Power to the People Plan

A Green New Deal:

Create millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.

Jobs as a Right:

Create living-wage jobs for every American who needs work, replacing unemployment offices with employment offices. Advance workers rights to form unions, achieve workplace democracy, and keep a fair share of the wealth they create.

End Poverty:

Guarantee economic human rights, including access to food, water, housing, and utilities, with effective anti-poverty programs to ensure every American a life of dignity.

Health Care as a Right:

Establish an improved Medicare For All single-payer public health insurance program to provide everyone with quality health care, at huge savings.

Education as a Right:

Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization.

A Just Economy:

Set a $15/hour federal minimum wage. Break up too-big-to-fail banks and democratize the Federal Reserve. Reject gentrification as a model of economic development. Support development of worker and community cooperatives and small businesses. Make Wall Street, big corporations, and the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Create democratically run public banks and utilities. Replace corporate trade agreements with fair trade agreements.

Protect Mother Earth:

Lead on a global treaty to halt climate change. End destructive energy extraction: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines. Protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks, and pollinators. Label GMOs, and put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe. Protect the rights of future generations.

Freedom and Equality:

End police brutality, mass incarceration and institutional racism within our justice system. Expand womens rights, protect LGBT people from discrimination, defend indigenous rights and lands, and create a welcoming path to citizenship for immigrants. Protect the free Internet, replace drug prohibition with harm reduction, and legalize marijuana/hemp.

Justice for All:

Restore our Constitutional rights, terminate unconstitutional surveillance and unwarranted spying, end persecution of government and media whistleblowers, close Guantanamo, abolish secret kill lists, and repeal indefinite detention without charge or trial.

Peace and Human Rights:

Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights. End the wars and drone attacks, cut military spending by at least 50% and close the 700+ foreign military bases that are turning our republic into a bankrupt empire. Stop U.S. support and arms sales to human rights abusers, and lead on global nuclear disarmament.

Empower the People:

Abolish corporate personhood. Protect voters rights by establishing a constitutional right to vote.Enact electoral reforms that break the big money stranglehold and create truly representative democracy: public campaign financing, ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and open debates.

About Jill Stein

Jill Stein was the Green Partys 2012 candidate for president of the United States. She is an organizer, physician, and pioneering environmental-health advocate. She has led initiatives promoting healthy communities, local green economies and the revitalization of democracy addressing issues such as campaign finance reform, green jobs, racially-just redistricting, and the cleanup of incinerators, coal plants, and toxics. She was a principal organizer for the Global Climate Convergence for People, Planet and Peace over Profit.

Dr. Jill Stein is a mother, physician, longtime teacher of internal medicine, and pioneering environmental-health advocate.

She is the co-author of two widely-praised reports,In Harm's Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development, published in 2000, and Environmental Threats to Healthy Aging, published in 2009.The first of thesehas been translated into four languages and is used worldwide. The reports promote green local economies, sustainable agriculture, clean power, and freedom from toxic threats.

Her "Healthy People, Healthy Planet" teaching program reveals the links between human health, climate security, and green economic revitalization. This body of work has been presented at government, public health and medical conferences, and has been used to improve public policy.

Jill began to advocate for the environment as a human health issue in 1998 when she realized that politicians were simply not acting to protect children from the toxic threats emerging from current science. She offered her services to parents, teachers, community groups and a native Americans group seeking to protect their communities from toxic exposure.

Jill has testified before numerous legislative panels as well as local and state governmental bodies. She played a key role in the effort to get the Massachusetts fish advisories updated to better protect women and children from mercury contamination, which can contribute to learning disabilities and attention deficits in children. She also helped lead the successful campaign to clean up the "Filthy Five" coal plants in Massachusetts, an effort that resulted in getting coal plant regulations signed into law that were the most protective around at that time. Her testimony on the effects of mercury and dioxin contamination from the burning of waste helped preserve the Massachusetts moratorium on new trash incinerator construction in the state.

Jill has appeared as an environmental health expert on the Today Show, 20/20, Fox News, and other programs. She was also a member of the national and Massachusetts boards of directors of the Physicians for Social Responsibility. Her efforts to protect public health has won her several awards including: Clean Water Action's "Not in Anyone's Backyard" Award, the Children's Health Hero" Award, and the Toxic Action Center's Citizen Award.

Having witnessed the ability of big money to stop health protective policies on Beacon Hill, Jill became an advocate for campaign finance reform, and worked to help pass the Clean Election Law. This law was approved by the voters by a 2-1 margin, but was later repealed by the Massachusetts Legislature on an unrecorded voice vote.

In 2002 activists in the Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party approached Dr. Stein and asked her to run for Governor of Massachusetts. Dr. Stein accepted, and began her first foray into electoral politics. She was widely credited with being the best informed and most credible candidate in the race.

She has twice been elected to town meeting in Lexington, Massachusetts. She is the founder and past co-chair of a local recycling committee appointed by the Lexington Board of Selectmen.

In 2003, Jill co-founded the Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities, a non-profit organization that addresses a variety of issues that are important to the health and well-being of Massachusetts communities, including health care, local green economies, and grassroots democracy.

Jill represented the Green-Rainbow Party in two additional races one for State Representative in 2004 and one for Secretary of State in 2006. In 2006 she won the votes of over 350,000 Massachusetts citizens which represented the greatest vote total ever for a Green-Rainbow candidate.

In 2008, Jill helped formulate a "Secure Green Future" ballot initiative that called upon legislators to accelerate efforts to move the Massachusetts economy to renewable energy and make development of green jobs a priority. The measure won over 81 per cent of the vote in the 11 districts in which it was on the ballot.

Jill was born in Chicago and raised in suburban Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1973, and from Harvard Medical School in 1979. Jill enjoys writing and performing music, and enjoys long walks with her Great Dane, Bandita. Dr. Stein lives in Lexington with her husband, Richard Rohrer, also a physician. She has two sons, Ben and Noah, who have graduated from college in the past few years.

Dear Leo,

I know that it is difficult for people to see outside of the two corporate political parties because that is all that the commercial media will promote. People's minds are so colonized by the corporate duopoly that they can't remember how important third parties have always been to social transformation in the US.

I hope that those who seek peace, as I do, will do what they can to promote a true peace candidate for president in the US. That is Dr. Jill Stein who is seeking the Green Party nomination. Please see her website at http://www.jill2016.com/. She needs support for her campaign in the form of raising awareness about it and volunteers and donations.

Bernie Sanders is NOT a peace candidate. He supports Saudi Arabia continuing its aggression in Syria. He supports the use of drones to murder. He supports Israel's violent apartheid. See http://www.mintpressnews.com/bernie-sanders-foreign-policy-includes-unlimited-military-aid-to-saudi-regime/209100/

I must disclose that I am also running for office, for US Senate in Maryland seeking the Green Party's nomination.

We are working very hard against a difficult political machine to build the necessary political alternative. Visit the GP US website to learn more about our ten key values.

I ask that you see the reality that Sanders, while better on some issues, is not the best peace candidate and instead support people who are devoting their lives to creating a peaceful, just and sustainable future. Thank you.

Best regards,

Margaret Flowers, USA,

Dear Margaret, Francois, Muhammad and Rudi,

Thanks for your responses, three of which are supporting Sanders as the best US President for global peace. Margaret says that the best US President for global peace will be Jill Stein from the Green Party. I was pleased to publish this diversity of opinions on the GHA website: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=662.

Here starts the most ethical, important, responsible and beautiful competition among the presidential candidates on the key issue for humanity - to ensure global peace as survival and prosperity of mankind, for all its peoples and every person human right for life. This competition embodies the great dream of Martin Luther King: "We must shift the arms race into a peace race." The essence of this competition is expressed by simple question: "WHO BETTER FOR GLOBAL PEACE??? Behind it a key challenge of our common planetary destiny lies: "To be or not to be" humanity in the 21st century?

The Global Harmony Association (GHA) always stimulated a peace race and did everything and makes for it to supplant and replace the eternal war and weapons race. The GHA created over 11 years "the mightiest tool" (Leo Tolstoy) of peace race - Global Peace Science (GPS) from harmony as a synthesis of the constructive peacemaking ideas of all ages, cultures and civilizations by the efforts of 174 coauthors from 34 countries. GPS was jointly published by GHA and IASE (Pedagogical) University of India in English and Russian languages: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=585

The GPS Resume (2 pages) was published here:

The Peace Race is orchestrated today, in the Leo Tolstoy's words by "the mightiest tool of truth" - GPS, from recognition and use of which depends the victory of the best for global peace presidential candidate in the United States. Similar candidacy will support all peace-loving people of the world, not just one country. Who better for global peace Stein or Sanders? This is defined today by their acceptance of the mightiest intellectual weapon and instrument of global peace - GPS. Who of the two is ready to arm it to win the peace race?

Dear Margaret, as a representative of Steins Staff, do you ready to help your candidate in this race? We invite you to discuss and publish on our home page (http://peacefromharmony.org), the number of visits which reaches 10-15 thousand DAILY, the following banner for Jill Stein.

Steins truth is:

-Foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, human rights and global peace science (?).

-End of the war and attack drones, cut military spending by at least 50%.

-Close the 700+ military bases and to ensure global nuclear disarmament (http://www.jill2016.com/plan).

As you can see, this banner includes ALL Jills foreign policy peacemaking ideas, but they are supplemented by the concept of "global peace science." You and Jill are not afraid of it? But if you really want world peace, its science should not scare you, it should attract you as "the mightiest instrument of peace," regardless of degree of its perfection which is infinite.

Thus, the resume is: are you ready to equip your candidate a new instrument of peace and postings this banner to our and your website? As Russian say: courage overcomes all obstacles. Do you want to win the peace race?

Sincerely, best wishes of peace via science (GPS),

Dr. Leo Semashko, GHA President, Russia

Dear Leo,

Dr. Jill Stein of The Green Party is by far a better candidate for Peace then Bernie Sanders is. But she has NO CHANCE of winning. Zero chance. Most people in this country dont even know who she is. Bernie Sanders is by far the best candidate running for President who is known and has any chance to win. But I highly doubt that the rich people who own the United States will allow Bernie to win. My guess is that Hillary Clinton will become the new President of the US. Hillary works with the wealthy elite in this country. She is a war-monger and supports the bankers, Wall Street, the Corporations and the Military Industrial Complex. I dont mean to be negative about this. Just realistic. If Bernie were somehow to beat Hillary I would definitely vote for him. But if Hillary is the Democratic candidate, I will not vote for her no matter which crazy Republican is running against her. And they are all pretty crazy.

The United States is ADDICTED To WAR and all of the candidates support the US Empire except Dr. Jill Stein, with Bernie to a much lesser degree. And they all support Israels occupation of Palestine except for Jill Stein.

Margaret, if you will email your mailing address to me, I will send you a copy of ADDICTED To WAR and a DVD copy of my film: What Ive Learned About US Foreign Policy: The War Against The Third World.

In Peace,

Frank Dorrel

Dear Frank,

I understand and acknowledge your realistic assessment of the US presidential campaign, in which ignore peace and prefer to speak only about different wars. Therefore, I believe your with Joel Andreas brilliant anti-militarist book "Addicted to War" (drug addict of war) is absolutely true diagnosis of social consciousness (with a few exceptions) in America. Therefore, I was happy for it to open your personal page: "Frank Dorrel and Joel Andreas. Addicted To War" here: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=668 and the cover of your wonderful book I have published on our home page: http://peacefromharmony.org

But we, peacemakers, we cannot limit itself to a statement of militaristic zombie for the most of US population. We need to think about how people can escape from the militaristic pathology and vice? We believe that to deliver the country from self-destructive militaristic addiction can only be a new peace-building consciousness of Americans based on Global Peace Science along with the books likes of your and candidates like Jill Stein. To her and her peace plan Americans have learned - it is necessary to talk about it, it should be discussed for that I opened the page: "Jill Stein: THE BEST US PRESIDENT FOR GLOBAL PEACE!" here: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=670. only then the core of the presidential races in the United States will be the key for its fate question: "Who is better for global peace?", which rven is not understood currently by any of the contenders. They are warlords though varying degrees. They remain "addicted to war" that can only have one future, "Ruin is America's future" for the exact definition of Paul C. Roberts (http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=657).

If the sensible Americans do not want this future, they need to study the peace science to eliminate own peace ignorance and drug addiction to war. Do you agree with that? We invite to this discussion of all the sensible, who is free from addiction to war.

Best wishes for peace from harmony through science,

Dr. Leo Semashko, GHA President,

My name is Ray McGovern.

I was an Army officer and then a CIA analyst for 27 years. My career began under John Kennedy and ended under George H.W. Bush. In the 70s I was chief of the Soviet Foreign Policy Branch and chaired National Intelligence Estimates. Later I briefed The Presidents Daily Brief one-on-one from 1981 to 1985.

Stated simply - I have seen what goes on behind the scenes at the White House. I know what it takes to be President of the United States.

I am in Europe now, but voted for Jill Stein, as a matter of conscience, before departing the U.S.

My support for Jill - and what she represents - is not an academic exercise. I have had personal experience of her nonchalance on brutalizing.

I was beat up, arrested, and jailed for simply turning my back on Secretary Clinton in silent witness, during a speech she gave - get this - about the need to respect dissent, IN IRAN!

I suppose I should take some consolation in the fact that I escaped the fate of Muammar Gaddafi, who was sodomized with a bayonet and murdered - amidst the next-day glee expressed by the Democratic candidate HRC: We came, we saw, he died. (chuckle).

I was thinking of my nine grandchildren (and the questions they have) when I returned my Intelligence Commendation Medallion - a gesture aimed at dissociating myself from an agency openly engaged in torture.

I thought of them even more, in deciding to cast my vote for Jill Stein, knowing that she and the Greens are hard at work trying to assure that my grandchildren will have the clean air and pure water that most of us grown-ups still take for granted.

Will you stand with me and support Jill with a donation of $100?

Ray McGovern

Dear Leo --

You may have heard of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal - or maybe not.

After all, the TPP was negotiated in secret and the media barely mentioned it until it became an issue in the presidential campaign.

But it's important: in short, the TPP is NAFTA on steroids. The biggest trade deal ever, it would offshore jobs and obliterate protections for workers, consumers and our environment.

The TPP would even set up global trade tribunals giving transnational corporations the power to challenge our laws - it's a global corporate coup.

Join Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka to demand that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump call on their parties to oppose any attempt to pass the TPP in the lame-duck session of Congress!

President Obama is a zealous backer of the TPP and is reportedly trying to get it passed through Congress in the lame-duck session - after an election where his own party is promising to stop the deal.

Hillary Clinton, after promoting the TPP across the country and calling it the gold standard, reversed her position during the primaries and now claims to oppose it.

But a recently leaked email from Clinton campaign chair John Podesta quoted a member of Congress who said she was told by the Secretary that the only reason she opposes TPP is to get labor off her back and that once she is elected President she will reverse position.

Donald Trump also claims to oppose the TPP, yet as the standard-bearer of a party that has been staunchly in favor of bad trade deals like NAFTA, Trump also gives us reason to be skeptical.

The bottom line is: no matter what happens, we cant let our guard down because the 1% who control both establishment parties want nothing more than to pass the TPP.

Now is the time to publicly hold politicians feet to the fire and let them know they cant betray their campaign promises without provoking a popular revolt.

Join Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka to demand that Clinton and Trump tell their parties: no lame-duck TPP!

You can expect to hear more from Jill and Ajamu on how we can stop the TPP after Election Day, too. Remember: our movement for people, planet and peace over profit is just getting started.

Its in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka campaign team

PS. Every single Green vote we get on Tuesday helps to build our movement stronger - click here to find out how you can be a part of it in the final stretch!

From the beginning, the establishment has sought to make this election about fear.

Democratic Party leaders tell us we must vote for their corporate agenda in order to stop Trump and the right wing. Their fear-mongering has grown louder and louder as Clintons record has been more and more exposed.

But as decades of bi-partisan attacks on working people have shown, lesser evilism is a failed strategy. In Jills own words, the politics of fear have brought us everything we were afraid of. The only way to decisively defeat the right is to build the left and our progressive movements.

That is why my organization, Socialist Alternative, and I are proud to endorse Jill Stein for President.

Unlike Hillary, Jill was never on the board of Walmart or bankrolled by Wall Street.

Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka were the only candidates in the presidential race who went to Standing Rock to stand in solidarity against attacks on indigenous treaty rights and the climate.

Will you stand with me in supporting Jill and Ajamu by making a $60 donation today?

Many will ask you, What is the point of voting when we know Jills not going to win?

It is true millions of progressives will vote for Clinton in spite of their opposition to her politics, simply to prevent Trump from setting foot in the White House. I understand their desire to see him defeated, but even more important is beginning the processtoo long delayedof building an alternative to the pro-corporate parties monopolizing US politics.

Your vote for Jill Stein matters very much.

Jills campaign is an opportunity to rally support for what is widely wanted and needed: radical change. Every vote for Jill is a vote for a national $15 minimum wage, Medicare for all, and for a rapid transformation toward a clean energy economy. It is a down payment for a whole new kind of politics in the years ahead.

Because if we are serious about fighting for a society based on social justice and racial and gender equality, then we must have a broader and longer vision.

Some people ask, Isn't it easier to push for change within the Democratic Party than try to build one of our own?

As Wikileaks and the presidential primary have shown, the Democratic Party is utterly hostile terrain for working people. The DNC did everything in its power to defeat Bernie Sanders. You cant have a political revolution inside a counter revolutionary party.

We need to strengthen the left today and prepare to build a united party of the 99 percent, completely independent of corporate cash and corporate influence.

Jill and Ajamu accept no corporate donations, and rely on the support of ordinary working people like you.

YES! I will stand with you, Kshama, in supporting Jill and Ajamu by making a donation today.

The tide is turning.

A strong vote for Jills campaign, against all the pressures of lesser evilism, will raise the morale and the confidence of working people to build our movements in the months and years to come.

This can be done. But it requires that in these final days we continue to push back against the political and media establishment, and look forward to the future.

It also requires our financial support. We need to give to the Stein-Baraka campaign so they can continue the struggle to build an alternative to corporate politics, and capture every vote possible on November 8th.

Its in our hands.

Kshama Sawant
Seattle City Councilwoman

P.S. The need for financial support is as important as the need for your vote on November 8 for Jill and Ajamu. Please give as much as you can today.

Kshama Sawant is a member of the Socialist Alternative party, which is in political solidarity with the Committee for a Workers International (CWI). Sawant and Socialist Alternative stand for democratic socialism: A global society run democratically by and for the 99 percent. A society that allows for a high standard of living for all in an environmentally sustainable manner, without oppression and exploitation.

The 22 Heroes of Democracy Still Need Your Help!

Dear Leo,

We're writing to update you on the 22 Hofstra Heroes for Democracy who put themselves on the line - literally - on Monday, September 26th, to peacefully protest Jill's exclusion from the debates at Hofstra University.

Hillary Clinton said that most Americans wouldnt know Gandhi from the guy who owns the garage down the street. Stein/Baraka supporters and the Green Party are WELL AWARE of Gandhi, and what the struggle for justice looks like.

Rosa Parks learned from - and was inspired by - Gandhi. Her words and actions helped change the course of history.

We think Rosa Parks would have been proud of our 22 Hofstra Heroes for Democracy. Dont you?

These 22 brave activists decided that a Rosa Parks-style sit-in was the way to get the medias spotlight on our message. And they were arrested... which was completely expected. (A revolution - even a nonviolent one - is a very scary prospect for the establishment.)

All of the heroes felt
their arrests were absolutely worth it.

I've participated in many acts of nonviolent resistance. And every time I have, they handcuff people for the entire time. They did it again and this time - they tore my ligaments. But in the end, I was so proud of all the women and men who stood up and refused to be silent. There's no turning back now. We will see open debates in my lifetime!  ~ Cheri Honkala

Hundreds of heroes were at the protest, sitting for their beliefs, but these 22 brave activists were singled out, arrested and charged with Class A misdemeanors

We salute the 22 Hofstra Heroes for their courage, conviction and commitment.

Unfortunately though, the court is making all of them travel back to New York for their first arraignment - and its expensive. Many of them simply cannot afford it - coming from as far away as California, Texas, and Colorado.

Our campaign is trying to help them with their legal and travel expenses as much as we can.

And thats why were writing to you today.

Will you donate right now to help them as well?

We still likely have about $22,000 more in legal and travel expenses.

Now is the time to put your financial support behind those who stood up - or sat down in this case - for you at Hofstra.

I take personal responsibility for the future of our planet. Every young adult, every child - born and yet to be born, every plant and animal, and the earth itself all depend on my willingness to face any consequence as I fight for our future. I declare I will defend our right to live and prosper in a beautiful world and a just society. ~ YahNé Ndgo

So today, please join us in honoring these heroes with your heartfelt thanks and with your financial support.

YES! I want to donate today to help with legal and travel expenses for these Heroes of Democracy.

By giving, you can be a hero for them, too.

As Jill and Ajamu often say, "We can create a new world. These goals - these imperatives - are not in our hearts, they're not in our dreams. Theyre in our hands.

We believe Mohandas Gandhi and Rosa Parks would applaud these words. Please contribute generously and let these words be heard over and over in these final election days.

Campaign Chair
Jill Stein for President

P.S. In another act of suppression at Hofstra, earlier in the day, Jill was escorted off the campus by campus security and police - even though she was invited into the debate site by numerous media outlets who had even given her press credentials. (ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Fox News).

We're not surprised. We're fomenting a nonviolent revolution. As always, that's a very scary prospect for the Establishment. And all the more reason why we need your donation today.

P.P.S. History anoints people as heroes. But their sacrifice often goes unappreciated by the people of the time. We will not make that mistake. We stand by these courageous and principled individuals. And we ask you to do the same. Be part of history and claim your own place in this movement.

Leo, maybe you saw the recent outrageous Daily Beast personal attack piece on Jill.

It essentially painted Jill as a hypocrite because she and her husband-- like 50 million other Americans-- have retirement accounts that are invested in mutual funds.

That's essentially saying that any schoolteacher, public worker, union member - or anyone else who works for a company that gives 401ks or IRAs as a benefit - the average, everyday working person - can never, ever criticize corporations because they've invested money for their future retirement.

As insulting as that is, it gets worse. A lot worse.

The first thing to know about the article and its author, Yashar Ali, is that Chelsea Clinton is on the board of directors of IAC, the corporate owners of The Daily Beast. The same publication that published relentless hit pieces against Bernie Sanders is now turning its corporate venom on Jill and the Green Party.

Its so ridiculous it reads like a bad Saturday Night Live skit.

Maybe he created the imagined conflict of interest to distract from the very real, harmful conflicts of interest in the Clintons pay-to-play schemes, back-room fundraising, and quarter-million dollar speeches for the predatory banks, health insurance industry, and fossil fuel tycoons.

Or from the audio evidence of Hillary Clinton proposing to rig a Palestinian election. Or the fact that the Obama administrations FBI is re-opening their investigation into her emails. AGAIN!

But wait, theres more!

Ali also buys into the Fox News line that anyone who rides in a car is a hypocrite to oppose the continuation of fossil fuels. As Jill observes,

The Daily Beast is suggesting that participating in the American economy is incompatible with working to change it. This is comparable to the position taken by anti-climate change press (like at Fox news) who say that riding in a car or airplane means you cannot criticize fossil fuels.

Unfortunately, to change public policy, one must participate in the economy enough to generate the resources to create change, ideally in a way that minimizes damage and maximizes change.

Let's be clear: this attack wasn't to point out a conflict of interest with Jill. It was to silence all dissent to the coronation of Hillary Clinton.

In the closing days of this election, don't be surprised if you see other hit pieces. Because the ruling elite is scared. Theyre scared of Jill. Theyre scared of the Green Party. Theyre scared of YOU!

But they cant take away Jill's passion and her principled stands on the environment, social justice, or income equality. They cant take away her arrest warrant for standing in solidarity at Standing Rock. And they cant take away the courage you have shown in standing up with her.

But because The Daily Beast is read by a lot of people it has affected our donations, which was their plan. Our contributions have dropped from $17,000 a day to about $3,000 a day.

The Clinton machine is worried that we are on the cusp of earning 5% of the vote, and they know that would qualify the Green Party for millions of dollars in federal funding.

They want to clip the wings of our peaceful revolution before it gets off the ground.

But YOU can fight back! YOU can take a stand.

You can help by keeping Jill and Ajamu on the campaign trail, and keeping hundreds of organizers in the field working their hearts out and their keisters off.

Will you give today to support Jill?

You and I both know that the only conflict of interest here is The Daily Beast's corporate ownership. Like the John Oliver hit piece, these orders seem to be coming from the top down.

Will you give today and send a clear message to the Yashar Ali's of this world? Will you give today to keep Jill's message strong?

Let's fight the smear with your support!

Make your donation now.

It's in our hands!

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. As Caitlin Johnstone said of Ali's article, writing for the Inquisitr, What Im finding intensely interesting at this moment is this: why is Chelsea Clinton still having her henchmen run smear pieces against Jill Stein? The official narrative were hearing throughout all corporate media is that Trump has fallen too far behind to recover and the return of Chelseas parents to the White House in January is now an inevitability. So why are the attack articles still coming? Why arent they just ignoring Jill Stein if shes an irrelevant non-factor?

We know the answer: Jill and Ajamu's message is being heard. She's a threat, and Hillary wants every Green vote she can get. And the Stein-Baraka message will be heard a lot louder in the coming days with a planned 3-part debate between Jill and Gary Johnson on The Tavis Smiley Show! Let's help keep our message growing. Give today.

Leo, as a campaign we are not only excited, but honored to have this personal endorsement of Jill and Ajamu from the legendary Chris Hedges.

After reading this, will you give as generously as you can to our campaign? Our donations are down and we urgently need your help! We must defeat the fear-messaging coming from the Clinton campaign. Together we will.

Over the last 15 years, following my return to the United States after two decades as a foreign correspondent, I have written eleven books on American culture and society.

These include:

  • War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning
  • American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America
  • Death of the Liberal Class
  • Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle
  • Days of Destruction and,
  • Days of Revolt and Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt

My reporting and writing, which has taken me to many parts of America, has convinced me that the traditional mechanisms of reform, including the two major political parties, have been captured by corporate power.

We now live in a nation where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy. We no longer live in a functioning democracy, but a system the political philosopher Sheldon Wolin calls inverted totalitarianism.

We will step outside this system and build alternative movements, including alternative political parties, or see the rise of a Christianized fascism, of which the Trump campaign is the dress rehearsal.

It is imperative that you join me in contributing to the Stein/Baraka presidential campaign and vote for Jill and Ajamu in the upcoming election. There is no longer any genuine threat from Donald Trump that can be used as an excuse to vote for Hillary Clinton.

The current policies of austerity and endless war, of wholesale surveillance, of Wall Street fraud and abuse, along with a refusal to enact a massive green energy program to save our environment, will by 2020 ensure the rise of a far-right candidate endowed with a discipline and political skill that eludes Trump.

If Jill and the Green Party can get 5 percent of the vote we will have $10 million in federal funds in 2020 and broad, nationwide ballot access. This election is about building the momentum for this historical moment.

The time for resistance, genuine resistance, is now. We must step outside the political mainstream. We must, like Greece and Spain, invest in movements and parties to reverse our corporate coup.

We must dismantle the neoliberal policies and imperial adventurismthat have laid waste to our civil liberties and are destroying the nation and the planet.

Dont be ruled by fear this election. Be ruled by your conscience.

Chris Hedges

Leo, will you help us today? Time is of the essence - with 2 weeks left in the campaign, its urgent now!

As Jill and Ajamu often say, "We can create a new world. These goals - these imperatives - are not in our hearts, they're not in our dreams. Theyre in our hands.

If you watch the corporate mediaCNN, ABC, CBS, etc.you'd think that Jill was polling from 1% to 4%, depending on the outlet.

But those results don't tell the full story!

Jill is killing it among millennials, artists, and left-leaning voters!!!

For example, the artist's network Acceptd ran a poll of its members and Jill came out the leader, ahead of Clinton, Trump, and Gary Johnson, at 40% of the vote!

Then there's the downloadable app called  MeetWeThePeople. The polls of its members range from 31% of the vote for Jill in the U.S. overall, and nearly 46% of the vote in California! In most of their polls, SHES SHOWING TO BE WAY AHEAD OF HILLARY CLINTON!

That's why we say, don't believe the national polls!

There's another reason, too, and it's even more inisidious. It's apparent from wikileaks documents that ...

The Clinton campaign has manipulated polls from the start!!

Here's what John Podesta wrote in an email:

"I also want to get your Atlas folks to recommend oversamples for our polling before we start in February. By market, regions, etc. I want to get this all compiled into one set of recommendations so we can maximize what we get out of our media polling.

Why would he want oversampling? Simple. To create overly optimistic polling numbers for Democrats.

Oversampling means the campaign is having its paid pollsters interview more people in a particular group or groupslike groups that favor Hillary Clinton.

The results make Clinton look stronger than she really is.

Plus, statistically speaking, polls that are oversampled have been shown to be less reliable than polls that are not oversampled. (Hate to get technical but we thought you'd like to know the truth.)

The fact is, the pollswhether national or localare all over the place this election and no one can predict with any certainty what the results will be on November 8.

That's why it's so critical that you give - today - to keep Jill and Ajamu's campaign strong and our ground-game running across all 50 states.

It ain't over until it's over is a famous baseball cliché; in the instance of Jill and Ajamu's race, it's a cliché that also happens to be true!

Will you stand with Jill and Ajamu today?

Will you put your hope with a Green New Deal, the abolishment of student debt, and a full-out mobilization against climate change, institutional racism, and police brutality?

Jill and Ajamu need your support today. In a couple of weeks it will be too late. Don't be stuck wishing that you had done more when you wake up on November 9th.

Help Jill and Ajamu with your donation today! Its in our hands.

Dear Leo,

That one word says it all if youve been to the rallies Ive been to, or seen the impressive and diverse list of names who are supporting Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

They are amazing in their compassion and amazing in the hope they bring. This is real people power.

Jill and Ajamu represent a tremendous joining together of compassionate people under the banner of the Green Party in the race for the White House.

I firmly believe that this revolutionary movement promoting the restructuring of society with bold ideas, can and will transform government from catering to the 1% to caring for the 99%.

And this is the reason I wholeheartedly endorse Jill and Ajamu.

As a social activist and co-founder of CODEPINK and Global Exchange, Ive successfully changed multinational corporate policy, improved the lives of sweatshop workers, and received awards from diverse humanitarian groups - including a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Ive even helped you get your fair trade coffee at coffee shops.

Ive witnessed, with my own eyes, the power and beauty of fusing social movements into one overarching "movement of movements" like the Green Party, one thats willing to use electoral politics as a tactic for desperately needed transformation and real change.

And in our nation, the Green Party is so desperately needed. Because in the end, youll see NO change coming from the establishment candidates. Theyre warmongers - hawks and militarists - with deep ties to Wall Street and the weapons industry. For them, profits take priority over people. They have little regard for our planet, and even less for peace.

Trump for example, has told us he will ban Muslims from immigrating to the country. Clinton says she has the diplomatic experience necessary to maintain world peace and safety. Her record tells us something different.

Ive done my homework on both of these candidates and can tell you that their brand of diplomacy has been or will be done by bombings and drone attacks.

Does it really make sense to believe that the world is filled with people who spend every waking moment hating Americans and thinking up ways to kill us?

Or rather, is the world filled with farmers who want to bring in a good crop without the fear of plowing up a landmine? Tradespeople who want to create and sell quality goods and services? Mothers who want to see their children grow up healthy and prosperous?

Im writing to you today to endorse Jill and Ajamu. I  urge you to support them as wholeheartedly as I do - with heart, energy, time and money.

Currently the campaign has fallen a little behind in their fundraising. That's why I need you to give again today, as much as you can - even $10 would help.

This is our year to make it clear that a tremendous movement for change has taken hold and we won't quit until we see that change. We plan to revolutionize the world and restructure society as we know it.

It's up to us to turn back the forces of evil and work for the greater good. As Jill and Ajamu say ... it's in our hands. Will you give today?

P.S. I just wrote a new book on Saudi Arabia called Kingdom of the Unjust. Hillary Clinton has taken millions of dollars from the Saudis for her foundation and as Secretary of State, she authorized billions in weapons sales to this repressive regime. Donald Trump has all kinds of businesses with the Saudis. Jill Stein is the only candidate who has taken the clear and principled stand of calling for an end to weapons sales to Saudi Arabia, a position taken by the Green Party. Instead of investing in the two parties that are in bed with repressive regimes, why not  support the Green Party revolutionary movement today?

P.P.S Im voting for Jill and Ajamu because I want the Green Party to get 5% of the vote, which would be a real gamechanger. It would mean that in the next race, the Party would automatically be on the ballot nationwide and would receive $10 million as a legitimate major party! Polls show that 57% of Americans want a new political party. Lets help the Green Party grow and thrive in this and future elections. Please donate today.

Dear Leo,

Last night, across the Internet, Jill Stein - a woman of true substance and integrity - stood up and showed America what a real president looks like. She once again proved that there is no reason to hold your nose and vote Hillary or stay at home because Bernie is gone.

Here are some notable quotes:

The answer to our problems - war, immigration, security, economy, climate change, etc. is - weve got to stop causing the problems in the first place.

A friend of Wall Street is not who we need to put into the White House...remember who got the economy into the mess its in right now.

If we, as a country, can bail out Wall Street with its waste, fraud and abuse, then we need to bail out the students who are the future of this country.

Jill and the Green Party are engaged, with you in the hard work of revolution

Speaking truth to power - to political parties, the military, the corporate media, predatory financial institutions - is at the heart of Jill's platform. And thats exactly what she did last night in the debate.

Because of all the explosive media attention both before and after the debates, weve made great strides in getting a lot of work done - but theres so much left to do.

And we are depending on you, our heroic supporters 100%, because...

We are the only clean-money campaign and we put people, peace, and planet over profits!

Our partys power comes from individuals like you. A total of about 84% of our total contributions have come from people who have given under $200... And of course, we accept NO corporate donations. (Only 17% of Hillarys donations come from small donors.)

The Green Party is truly a grassroots revolution, a movement for real change, and were going to blindside the establishment. They think theyve shut us down with the media blackout, the Trump circus, and the Hillary ad blitz.

But last night proved them wrong. Thanks to you, once again, we owned the Internet!

But winning costs money...This battle has hit us hard financially. Weve watched our pennies while using every opportunity to make the Jill and Ajamu option known to America.

Our expense controls have worked better than expected and weve made it to the middle of October. But it has been costly.

Here are the total campaign costs from all debates:
1st debate at Hofstra: $50k
2nd debate(Town Hall) in St. Louis: $35k
3rd debate: $25k
VP debate: $35k
Total cost: $145,000

When we started, we knew that from NOW right up to the election would be the most expensive part of the campaign. And we knew we would be calling on you to help. We need you to act today for the greater good, so Americans dont have to choose between the lesser of two evils in the establishment candidates.

Our lives literally depend on it. So does the life of our planet, and the future of our children and future generations. YES! I want to act today for the greater good. Heres my donation.

The world were working toward is not a dream. Its not unattainable. As Jill saysit's in our hands. We have to stand up today, this minute, and fight for the greater good as if our lives depend on it. Because they do.

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. Jill is America's last, best chance to permanently end our disastrous history of corruption, deceit, and having to choose the lesser of two evils. Getting Jills message outthat Americans will no longer stand by for corruption, deception, and censorship takes money. YES! I want to support Jill right now!

P.P.S. Will you help us continue to get our voices heard on the Green New Deal, Climate Change, on abolishing Student Debt, Income Inequality, Black Lives Matter, public corruption and more? The solutions will not be found in the insanity of the establishment parties. They will be found in us. COUNT ME IN! Heres my donation. (Did you know? You are allowed to give up to $2,700 to Jill. Why not max out your donation today?)

Dear Leo,

The final Presidential debate is tonight, October 19th at 9pm ET! The Green Revolution has begun - tomorrow starts TODAY - and you know it because you are part of it.

Really, you (and millions of others like you) made this movement happen!

And now, brothers and sisters, its your turn to step up and stand with Jill. Because

Tonight, we will see the final
chapter of Donald Trumps
imploding campaign end.

And everyone knows it.

The polls have Hillary Clinton with a solid lead nationally, and leading by even more in key battleground states.

Stated simply -- Trump is toast. There is virtually no chance that he will be President.

Which opens up
the opportunity for Jill to
Expose Hillary Clinton for her...

 Support of WAR AND EMPIRE

Jill will remind America of the Hillary behind the practiced political mask, as well as the disaster that President Trump or President Clinton would be for America!

Will you help Jill hold Trump AND Hillary accountable?
Jill needs your financial help RIGHT NOW!

The corporate duopoly candidates will debate on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus, in a traditional debate format divided into six segments and moderated by Fox News Chris Wallace.

But well be livestreaming Jill from Las Vegas where well insert her LIVE between questions, laying out her plan for building a just, Green, and peaceful society.

Literally, MILLIONS WILL HEAR and see JILL. And that is only because of generous donors who keep this campaign chugging.

We need you hashtag ready and waiting, as Jill trounces Hillary and The Donald (who really is finished). Use #OpenTheDebates to make your voice heard and take part in the tweets.

Will you stand shoulder to shoulder with Jill, the only candidate with bold, realistic programs for building a new world?

During the debate, she will be providing real answers to the problems that face us.

We estimate that the costs of sending Jill and her team to Las Vegas at $35,000. Can you help by making a donation?

Please give whatever you can today - ITS URGENT!

If youve already made one, nows the time to make one again! Any amount you can give will help.

Tonight, America will have a clear choice - the choice between the mud slinging and broken promises of the corporate duopoly candidates, or the candidate who has fresh, realistic plans to build a new America!

Count me in! I want to donate $29 for Stein and support Jill right now!

The $35,000 we hope to raise with this email will pay for technology, travel costs, the website, and all the associated  infrastructure of this historic peoples intervention.

With the election less than 3 weeks away, everything is on the line...WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY.

As Jill and Ajamu say, We can build this new world. It's not in our hopes. Its not in our dreams. It's in our hands. Lets build a better future together!

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. Remember, the third and final Presidential Debate will be broadcast live starting at 9PM ET. Log on to the campaign Facebook page to watch Jill's responses to the questions asked. And please give generously to cover the costs of our livestream event. Its our way of using the peoples media to reach millions of people that are blocked by the corporate media blackout! We know that weve already had over 20 million views by using this strategy. The third debate is our best, last chance to reach millions of voters with a real choice.

P.P.S. Help us support Jills last Presidential debate by giving now. During the debate, Jill will talk about the campaign's platform which includes the Green New Deal, the bold initiative that will create 100% full employment in our nation and combat climate change. Along with  universal health care, abolishing student debt, an end to police violence, support for Black Lives Matter and an end to institutional racism and so much more! ALSO! SEE JILLS NEW VIDEO NOW!

Dear Leo,

Its time to Break the Blackout.

Despite the Democratic- and Republican-run Commission on Presidential Debates keeping Jill off the debate stageand the mainstream media barely covering herthe American people will get to hear from Jill.

That's because people deserve to hear all voices in the presidential race, so they can make an informed choice.

With supporters like you, we have been successful at getting this people-powered campaigns message out on social media.

So far, weve reached 23.4 million people with our debate livestreams!

Wednesday night, Jill will livestream her final presidential debate showdown at 9 p.m. ET on our Facebook page.

If you want tens of millions of Americans to hear Jill discussing real issues, you need to become the media.

Heres what you can do:

  • Share our posts: Promote Jill's pre-debate posts on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. You can download and post pre-made social media graphics, too.
  • Re-post our livestream: When it appears at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, share it on your timeline and with Facebook groups you belong to.
  • Spread the word: Tweet at us @DrJillStein during the livestream and retweet our live tweets! Use the hashtags #debate and #BreakTheBlackout to send a clear message that you won't be silenced.
  • Educate: Let people know they can find out more at Jill2016.com.

The media has been blacking out our campaign, but we keep growing because Jill is not giving up on her mission of building a national party for people, planet and peace over profit.

You can help. Be the media.

Its in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka Campaign Team

P.S. RSVP to the debate.

Dear Leo,

Lets cut to the chase. A Green revolution is happening in this country. You know it and I know it. We also know the corporate media is trying to crush that revolution, and silence me and other alternative voices in this election.

Theyre creating a climate of fear - and apparently, its working. According to a recent article in Time Magazine, 52% of the women they surveyed are in fear because of the choices presented in this election.

The establishment parties are pushing the fear message as far as they can, also saying that you cant afford to waste your vote on me.

But its a false narrative.

The real narrative here, the fearful truth, is what will happen if as a nation, were faced with a Clinton or Trump Presidency.

Both of these candidatespose the greatest danger to America and the world than any other candidates we've seen in recent history.

With their corruption and corporate loyalties both Clinton and Trump will - if elected - implement.

policies that will destroy our planet, increase endless war, and ruin peoples lives. ALL in the name of profit

These candidates are the embodiment of everything - everything - I stand against.

Will you donate today and join with me today to stop them? (ALSO SEE MY NEW VIDEO HERE!)

Its plain the kind of disastrous president that either corporate candidate will make. Trumps idiotic calls for a border wall and banning Muslim immigrants make it apparent what he will do. Clintons record of supporting war and imperialism, as well as her craven connections to Wall Street, make it obvious what she would do. In fact...

Here are the TOP 5 DISASTERS I believe were headed for if either of these corporate candidates are elected:

  • A continuation of the disastrous Middle East colonial policy that is producing a refugee crisis, breeding terrorists, and leading us toward nuclear war with Russia.
  • Continued military overspending while millions of Americans live in poverty.
  • Runaway climate change and widespread environmental contamination from oil and gas fracking operations, that both Trump and Clinton support and promote.
  • Predatory financial institutions being allowed to continue making the top 1% richer while 68% of Americans say their lives are harder and,
  • A global free-trade regime that will end American workers jobs and encourage virtual slavery (sweatshops) abroad (TPP).

We must stop the madness. When it comes to Hillary, as my friend Dr. Cornel West says, we cannot allow this hawk, this imperialist to be elected. And when it comes to Trump, as Michelle Obama said this week, we cant endure him another minute, much less four years.

I know you want to make your vote count. You want to stand up for what you know is right for your family and for America. So dont waste your vote in the failed two-party system. Invest your vote in a growing movement for real change.

Will you join me now? Will you stand with the Green Party and oppose Clinton and Trump, and their disastrous policies that will destroy the economy, spread war, and put your childrens future and the very planet at risk?

YES! I want to donate right now (AND SEE THE NEW JILL VIDEO)!

If youve already donated, thank you - but nows the time to make one more!

Im asking you to help Ajamu and I get the word out about our Revolution to the millions of Americans just like you who are wanting a choice - a choice of leadership that will effect REAL change for America.

We can build this new world. It's not in our hopes. Its not in our dreams. It's in our hands.

Jill Stein
2016 Presidential Candidate for the Green Party

P.S. Remember, we rely on the support of the people, now and always. We never take donations from corporations or lobbyists, so please give generously today.

P.P.S. Change costs money! Thank you for bravely standing up against the power brokers behind the would be leaders of this country. Thank you for supporting me and our Green Party! CLICK HERE ALSO TO SEE THE NEW JILL VIDEO!

Jill Stein

Dear Leo,

Republican legislatures have developed a reputation across the country over the past decade for suppressing voters, particularly minority voters.

Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka arent standing for it.

These suppression measures include:

  • odious voter ID laws,
  • the reduction of early voting periods,
  • the redlining of polling sites to avoid college campuses and minority communities, and
  • the elimination of same-day registration.

Recently, investigative journalist Greg Palast spotlighted another blatant voter-suppression program known as "Interstate Crosscheck," which could target as many as 7.2 million voters for de-registration in the November 2016 election.

The Crosscheck list contains the names of several hundred thousand voters with last names that skew heavily toward Black, LatinX and Asian populations.

This is reminiscent of the stolen 2000 election, when Florida electronically purged tens of thousands of overwhelmingly African-American voters from the rolls.

Jill and Ajamu call for an immediate halt to all voter suppression tactics, including "Interstate Crosscheck.

They pledge to fight what the Reverend Joseph Lowery calls "Jim Crow all over again.

Its in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka Campaign Team

Leo, did you see Jill and Ajamu Tuesday night during the C-SPAN Town Hall? If you did, you know just how awesome they were. If you didnt, you missed quite a progressive performance. Luckily, you can see it on our website.

Answering questions from the moderator, questions from tweets, and questions from callers, Jill and Ajamu outlined clearly what's at stake for voters on a wide range of topics. They took on climate change to war in Syria to institutionalized racism and police brutality.

A highlight of the hour-long program came when a Hillary supporter, Steve from Wisconsin, asked Jill if she would take her name off the ballot in battleground states because he was worried that Jill will act as a spoiler for Hillary in those states.

Jill challenged him right back:

Are you ok with the nuclear war (if Hillary is elected)? Six months from now, we could be in a nuclear war with Russia thanks to Hillary's foreign policies.

We have seen what Hillary can do in Libya. She says what she wants to do in Syria (establish a no-fly zone that puts us in direct conflict with Russia). It's important not to drink the Kool-Aid.

Don't just be a victim of the propaganda. You really need to look at the track record and make a principled decision.  What we say is - the biggest wasted vote is a vote for more of what is throwing under the bus. Invest your vote in a true social movement for real change.

The C-SPAN interview is just one of dozens of media interviews and appearances the Stein/Baraka team is earning these days. With every national interview, Jill and Ajamu's platform of bold, forward thinking Green ideas finds an audience, and helps grow the movement.

Over 8,000 people watched C-SPAN live, and as of Wednesday night, the program had over 312,000 total views plus 10,000 shares overall on social media!

By way of comparison, Gary Johnsonwho had the spot with C-SPAN the hour before Jill and Ajamu came ongot only 4,100 people watching live, with 73,100 total views on Wednesday, and only 1000 shares on social media. This is why hes scared to debate Jill! Just look at the difference in those numbers! The enthusiasm gap is just astounding.

Don't believe the corporate media blackout! Our messagewith your financial supportis getting out on the people's media, social media like Facebook and Twitter, to name just two of the platforms we utilize.

In fact, during all three of the rigged Presidential and VP debates," Jill and Ajamu received more than 22 million views on social media.

Truly, we have an incredible volunteer social media campaign.

But we can't do it alone. We urgently need your donation today to keep up the relentless 24-hour cycle of social media posts and events.

With your help, we can continue to take our shared message, our shared ideas, and our candidates to the people through social media.

Will you donate today as generously as possible? A donation of $29 for Stein can make a real difference in our social media outreach.

Please - don't delay. While this email is in front of you, please make a donation. If youve never given before, now is the time! No amount is too small, or too large (up to $2700 per person). Click here to donate now.

And be sure to keep checking jill2016.com for news of more appearances by Jill and Ajamu in the media. Help spread the word!

As they say-- A new world is not just in our hopes. A new world is not just in our dreams. That new world is in our hands!

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. You can watch the entire C-SPAN hour-long interview by clicking HERE. Jill and Ajamu have a lot to say about foreign policy, and the thought of Donald Trump OR Hillary Clinton at the helm of our foreign relations is downright terrifying.

P.P.S. Please - we urgently need your help today for Jill and Ajamu, the candidates for peace and an end to the madness!

Gloria Mattera

Leo, let me introduce myself.  I am Dr. Cornel West, a teacher of philosophy and a citizen the US republic.

I wholeheartedly support Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka. And Im writing to you today to let you know, they have my endorsement - and I know they have your support as well.

You know, Ive never been tied to one party or one candidate or even one institution. And thats true even with one church as a Christian. Im committed to truth and justice. I know you are, too.

I came late to the Green Party, but right on time; I was a tireless supporter and surrogate for Brother Bernie Sanders he was the standard-bearer for truth and justice during the primary at a national level, at a highly visible level. Maybe you supported him, too.

But once he endorsed Hillary Clinton, I had to endorse Jill and Ajamu.

Why? Because Hillary Clinton is a neoliberal disaster.

What I mean by neoliberal disaster is someone who generates a mass incarceration regime, who deregulates banks and markets, who promotes chaos of regime change in Libya, supports military coups in Honduras, undermines some of the magnificent efforts in Haiti of working people, and so forth.

Thats the record of Hillary Clinton.

Shes an imperialist. Shes a militarist. She could take us into war with Russia. She could take us into war with Iran. I believe shes dangerous in terms of her neoliberal ideologynot as a woman, because Im supporting, of course, my dear sister Jill Stein.

Jill is not a spoiler. You know, a lot of people use that term "spoiler."

But truth is, If Hillary Clinton cant make the case to progressives, she doesnt deserve our vote.

That's why I've put my time, my heart, my energy behind Sister Jill.

And I need you to go above and beyond for her today, so we can keep the movement she's part of, that I'm part of, rolling like a wave of thunder across the entire nation.

I implore you to make the biggest donation to the Stein-Baraka campaign as you can today. No donation is too smallthink of the Widow's mite in the Bibleand no donation (up to $2700 per person) is too large.

You see, the campaign for Jill has grown exponentially and now needs about $17,000 a day to keep up through November 8. Our goal to start, is to raise $85,000 by midnight on Saturday. Will you help us?

We're currently falling behind in our fundraising. That's why I need you to give again today, as much as you can - even $10 would help

Because of about 45,000 prophetic donors to her campaign, we've been able to build a progressive movement the likes of which the United States has never seen in modern times.

This is our year to dig in and make a real difference, to turn back the wave of neoliberal policies that are killing black folk, women, prisoners, people of color, the poor and the dispossessed, and our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered sisters and brothers.

This is our year to make it clear that an alternative movement has taken hold and we won't quit until we see huge change. We will revolutionize the world.

The last shall be first, and the first shall be last.

This is our year to support Jill! In the language of Coltrane, Jills a major force for good, accenting the role of poor and working people being center stage.

Today, while this email is in front of you, please give generously, as much as you canto my Sister Jill Stein and Brother Ajamu Baraka.

It's up to us to turn back the forces of evil and work for the greater good.

As Sister Jill and Brother Ajamu say ... it's in our hands.

Dr. Cornel West

Dear Leo --

This year Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka made history as the first Green candidates ever to have a prime-time town hall on CNN. Tonight, we're taking another huge step forward with a nationally televised town hall on C-SPAN.

Tune in to C-SPAN tonight at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific to watch the Stein/Baraka town hall!

Jill and Ajamu will be taking questions from the audience - call 202-748-8920 or tweet at @CSPAN with your question.

As both establishment party candidates melt down under scandal after scandal, it's more crucial than ever to let Americans know they can invest their vote in building a new major party for real change.

Here's how you can help us reach thousands more:

Will you go to our Facebook and Twitter pages and share our posts announcing tonight's C-SPAN town hall with your networks?

Let your friends and family know that you're tuning out the politics of fear, and tuning in tonight to the growing movement for people, planet and peace over profit.

It's in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka Campaign Team
Dear Leo --

Sundays debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump may be the most embarrassing example yet of the race to the bottom that the 2-party system has become.
When they werent arguing about whos the bigger liaror whether Donald Trump or Bill Clinton is the bigger creepthey seemed to be competing to see who could be most threatening to the rest of the world.
Its clear why the DNC/RNC-owned debates commission didnt want Jill Stein on stage. But we interrupted their plans by having Jill respond live in a streamed video on the Internet.
If you didnt get a chance to watchand we got tons of reports of people who experienced problems with Facebook that nightcheck out Jills debate video on our Facebook page! And please like it, comment on it and share it.
As both establishment party candidatesalready the least liked or trusted candidates in U.S. historyare rocked with new leaks and scandals, its more important than ever that we keep spreading the word and building our movement for the greater good, not the lesser evil.
The new world of peace, justice, democracy and ecology is not just in our hopes. That new world is not just in our dreams.
That new world is in our hands!
David Cobb,
Stein/Baraka Campaign Manager
P.S. If you missed Jills livestreamed debate, watch it here.

THIS is why they won't let Jill debate Hillary & The Donald! Shes Too Good!

Leo, last week Jill stopped in for an interview with Maria Shriver, corporate media icon and heir to one of the great establishment political families.

To be blunt, Maria tried to ridicule, mock and undermine Jill. And just as at Standing Rock -- Jill stood strong, powerful and unwavering.

You can see the 16 minute video here, and its a blast to watch.

What you'll see is a candidate who will not bow down and will not give in. What you'll also see is a so-called journalist attempting to trivialize real issues to defend Hillary Clinton. Maria Shriver used  every gotcha tactic in the book, and Jill was nothing short of phenomenal!

It was particularly galling to hear Maria Shriver try to shame Jill (and her supporters) for not supporting Hillary Clinton, and strongly implied that YOUR vote automatically belong to Hillary. Be sure to listen to Jill's fearless answer.

Jill's days are filled with back-to-back interviews and last night, at the second Presidential Debate, Democracy Now! Was prepared to allow Jill's answers to be heard after Hillary and Donald's non-answers to each question.

But for the first time in their history, technical difficulties prevented them from being able to do a live show from a different location.

But Jills team turned on a dime, and created a Facebook stream to allow Jill to respond in real time. Over 2 million people were reached this way!

Please check out that recording on the website, and you will see that Jill always comes back to the issues that are literally killing us: climate disaster (Matthew being just the latest superstorm), wealth inequality, access to medical care, student debt, institutional racism, police brutality, and so much more.

The Green Party has the answers that Americans are desperate to hear. We will continue to take to the people's media, social media like Facebook and Twitter, to make our case and spread the Green movement.

The establishment media is trying to silence us. But the great wind of change is blowing

This movement will not be stopped - it will be heard, and it will grow. The work we do this year will directly translate into more Green candidates in the next election cycle, and a 2020 presidential campaign that will be immediately well-funded, organized, and effective.

But we can't keep up this work, especially our 50-state Get Out The Vote campaign, without your financial help. Please, will you chip in $29 for Stein today, or any amount you can give up to $2700 per person.

Hillary and Donald don't have bold, breakthrough answers. You know that. The Maria Shrivers of the world don't have brilliant, incisive questions. You also know that.

If you ask the wrong questions and put forth the same-old, same-old answers, all you get is the same disastrous consequences.

Pleasegive generously today so we can keep standing up to the Maria Shrivers in the corporate media. And more importantly, that we continue to build the electoral arm of the growing movements for peace, justice, democracy and ecology.

Please give to the Stein-Baraka campaign today.

A new world is possible, and we are helping to build it. BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROUS DONATION.

This new world is not just in our hopes. It is not just in our dreams. That new world is in our hands.

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. Here's a new video of Jill talking about the movement we are building together. We are what Democracy looks like!Help us continue to rise UP against an Establishment politik that is killing us. Please help Jill and Ajamu and yourself and contribute today.

P.P.S. Already, our social media outreach is getting millions upon millions of views15 million in the first debate alone -- and this is critical work we must keep up! Will you help Jill and Ajamu today?

Whatever you can throw into the hat is going to help us get there. Jill Stein

Gloria Mattera

Dear Leo,

We urgently need your help - right now. Your faith, passion, and strength are the fuel we need to propel Jill and Ajamu's campaign and effect very real change in America -- in time to stop Hillary and the fossil fuel industry from destroying our planet. We must hold back the climate crisis, and guarantee a better future for our children.

The current talking points of the fear message coming from the Democrats is that you cant afford to waste your vote for Jill. But heres the truth. As a committed climate activist, you cant afford to waste your vote on a candidate like Hillary or Gary Johnson who will most assuredly implement policies that will destroy our planet.

The fear-mongers want you to believe that Obama and Hillary have a wonderful record on protecting our climate.

But that's just not the case.

While she was Secretary of State, Hillary created a government office to promote fracking around the world!

According to Mother Jones in March of 2016:

As secretary of state in 2010, Clinton argued in favor of gas as "the cleanest fossil fuel available for power generation today," and said that "if developed, shale gas could make an important contribution to our region's energy supply, just as it does now for the United States." Her office, meanwhile, promoted fracking in developing nations.

Electing Hillary Rodham Clinton will mean the assured destruction of our climate and our earth.

There could not be a stronger contrast between candidates - because ...

Jill and Ajamu are committed to doing the exact opposite.

They will confront the fossil fuel industry causing radical climate damage with Innovation, Practicality and Fairness. They will absolutely without a doubt, BAN the practice of fracking.

Will you donate $50 and help them today?

Jill Stein is the only presidential candidate ever to make climate change the centerpiece of her campaign and develop a comprehensive plan focusing her economic plan at clean, renewable energy.According to the Huffington Post in September 2016:

Dr. Stein wants to empower the EPA and cleanse it of all political and corporate influence. She wants to invest money not into bailing out our predatory banks and perpetually failing automobile industry but into clean energy and green technology. She envisions a major creation of green jobs including constructing green infrastructure, retrofitting homes, sustainable food and agricultural practices and increasing recycling.

Were past arguing whether climate change is real or not. People like Gary Johnson and the other climate change deniers must be defeated.  Will you stand with Jill and Ajamu with your $50 donation and help them protect and preserve our planet?

Theyre standing for all of us, for our very survival.

In fact, Jills Green New Deal promotes a harmony between people and the planet. This includes innovative technologies and practical alternatives to industrial exploitation. It will:

  • Preserve the great American agricultural zones which help feed the world AND use its waste to produce fuel
  • Reward companies who look for alternatives (Yes, plastics are essential in our modern society, but plastic from oil is not)
  • Increase jobs for every skill level - local jobs, in new community grids, will be diverse and rewarding
  • Rebuild America, and the world, using next generation infrastructure (such as carbon neutral concrete)

And thats only the beginning.

Join the Stein/Baraka Team today with your $50 declaration of support for our planet!

Remember It's in our hands! WE are the ones we have been waiting for.

And we have to stand up today, right now, and fight for the greater good as if our lives depend on it. Because they do.

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. Jill and Ajamu are the only candidates who makes taking action on climate change a priority. Our Green New Deal will create 20 million new Living Wage Jobs by transitioning to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2030. Will you join us today?

P.P.S. This is an urgent, unprecedented moment in history, with people everywhere rising up to defend our climate and preserve our planet for generations to come. Please help us keep the momentum going with your donation of $50 or more!

Gloria Mattera

Dear Leo,

Im David Cobb. I have the honor of serving as Campaign Manager for Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

There are only 5 short weeks until the election on November 8. As Campaign Manager, its my job to help Jill, Ajamu, and the Green Party break the sound barrier - to defeat the corporate medias effort to ignore, suppress and marginalize our voice.

Because I know what you know -- our program and platform resonate with ordinary people when they hear it. That is why we must take our Green Party messagestraight to the voters.

To do that, we need your help. Its urgent that we:

  • Fight back against the attacks of the corporate parties
  • Execute a nationwide massive grassroots ground game and Get Out The Vote
  • Broaden our support and win over the hearts and minds of undecided voters

And thats why I plan to bring you a series of 5 messages over the coming weeks as the election approaches.

Here is the first in that series - a short video message called, Don't Waste Your Vote.  It's only about 90 seconds long. Please watch it. Comment on it. Share it widely. Use it to start conversations with your friends and family members!

In this video, I tackle the myth that a vote for Jill and Ajama is a wasted vote. The only vote ever wasted is one cast for someone you dont believe in.

Its time to make history!
This is the moment for action.Right now!

After you view the video, will you please donate to our campaign right away?

To accomplish our goals, we need your help. Dont waste your vote on a failed 2-party system, invest your vote in a movement for real change.

These goals - (or imperatives, to borrow a phrase from 2008 Vice Presidential nominee Rosa Clemente) are not just in our hearts. They are not in just in our dreams. As Jill says, theyre in our hands.

David Cobb
Campaign Manager
Stein/Baraka 2016

P.S. Be sure to forward this video to any friend or family member you know who may be thinking of sitting this election out. This year is too important - as Jill and Ajamu say, our lives depend on it. Give today and be sure to vote November 8th!

P.P.S. During the first Presidential Debate at Hofstra, Greens paid dearly for our right to free speech. Because in truth that right isn't guaranteed. With each passing election it becomes more restricted. Will you donate today and help us spread the message of people, peace, and the planet, over profits?
David Cobb

Dear Leo,

In America, free speech and political change is expensiveand I don't mean the dollar cost.

Yesterday, during the first Presidential Debate, Greens paid dearly for the our right to free speech. Because, in truth, that right isn't guaranteed. With each passing election, it becomes more restricted.

Our 24 incredibly brave activists put their lives on the line to make sure our message got outand were arrested for peacefully blocking a street to make our point.

After being held for at least 6 hours, each one was processed, given a date to appear in court and then released in the early morning hours. A jail support team was waiting with food, transportation, housing if needed, cheers and hugs for these committed activists.

Legal fees and jail support will take money and that's one reason we're writing you todayto ask, can you give to help defray these costs?

The protesters, including our brave 24, were up against over 1,000 police, including a significant number of undercover officers in plainclothes and suits. There were also snipers from the local police's Bureau of Special Operations were on rooftops, and uniformed officers lined Hempstead Turnpike.

The police presence included officers from State Police, NYPD, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Suffolk, and Hempstead and Garden City villages. So were members of the FBI, ATF and Secret Service.

In spite of an intense police presence, thousands of engaged citizens converged on Hofstra to protest Jill's exclusion Monday afternoon.

Earlier in the day Jill was escorted off the Hofstra campus by campus security and police even though she was invited into the debate site by numerous media outlets who gave her press credentials.  (ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Fox News).

It didn't matter. Getting ejected from the site of the debates, in spite of her credentials, is simply more evidence about how the Commission on Presidential Debates puts democracy on lockdown and excludes voices outside the 2-party system.

In spite of all of the police and the fact that the free speech zones were purposely located far from the debates themselves, we were incredibly successful at getting our message out through the internet. Last night, these were the numbers coming in from our various platformsand numbers are still rising!

Facebook - over 1 million views; 4.3 million reached
Twitter - 2.8 million impressions 9/26; 7.6 million impressions 9/27
RT America (re-post of our livestream) - 100k views; 800k reached
Periscope - 55k views (Twitter representatives say that this quite impressive given that this was the very first time we used Periscope to broadcast a live feed.)

Total number of impressions: approximately 15 million. And still rising!

If anyone ever needed proof that we're a movement, not just a campaign, social media proves the point. More important, the results show that people are starving for a real choice this yearnot the lesser of two evils.

Will you help keep this movement going with your donation?

There are two more debates. Today, we're asking you to dig deep and contribute so that we can mount the same protestsand even larger onesat the next two debates. It's one of our best avenues to getting Jill and Ajamu's message out before November 8th.

Jill and Ajamu are on the ballot in 45 states, plenty to win the electoral college. But most voters still don't know about them. YES! I want to help keep this movement going with my donation!

Supporting our "Open Debates" strategy is one way that you can make a very real impact on how many American voters hear about their platform: a Green New Deal to create 20 million good jobs and combat climate change, canceling student debt, moving to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2030, an end to police violence and the kind of militarized police that showed up at Hofstra, an end to institutional racism, and so much more.

These goalsthese imperativesare not in our hearts, they're not in our dreams. As Jill says, they're in our hands.

Please give as much as you can today so we can keep spreading the word and building the movement.

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair

P.S. one of our protestors who was arrested was Cheri Honkala, Jill's 2012 running mate. In 2012 she and Jill were both arrested for simply showing up at the debates. They were handcuffed to chairs for 9 hours until the debates were over. That's the true cost of literally changing the debate. Will you help today?

P.P.S. If you've ever doubted that we're living in a police state, 2012 and 2016 are proof positive. YES! I want to give today so that we can continue peaceful protests to draw attention to the Green action plan to turn our nation and our world away from self-destruction. Give today.

Dear Leo,

Green Party 2008 Vice Presidential candidate and Hip Hop activist Rosa Clemente's Truth II Power college campus tour is not to be missed! Rosa has been speaking truth to power as a candidate, activist and journalist with a powerful message of transforming society to one built on social and economic justice.

Rosa famously said in 2008:

The Green Party is No Longer the Alternative, the Green Party is the IMPERATIVE.

8 years later, her prophetic words ring in our ears. Don't miss the opportunity to hear from this important thought-leader. If you can't check her out in person, learn more about her at: http://rosaclemente.net

Jill2016 Headquarters Alert!

Hi Leo, Jill here--

Today, I am declaring victory...sweet victory...in our state ballot access efforts!

And I wanted you to be the first to know!

Because of YOU, the national electorate will be able to vote for me and Ajamu in 48 states (45 plus 3 write-ins).

Thats more than any other Green Party candidates in history - including Ralph Nader in 1996 and 2000! Its absolutely unprecedented.

But these victories were hard-fought, both by my campaign as well as by the incredible leadership and ground game of our state coordinators and individual petitioners. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this monumental effort.

And you know what else?

The victories were hard-fought by YOU.

YOU are my hero. You helped.

You gave to choose the greater good over the lesser evil.

You gave to make sure the voters have a real choice on November 8th.

You gave as if our lives depended on - and they do! You gave because you believed that people, planet, and peace must be put first over profits.

One thing I can definitely say about my supporters is that theyre passionate - passionate about civil rights, jobs, peace, people over profits, and much more. And that was evident from their generosity.

We were blessed and honored to have the ability to spend a total of around $580,000 for legal defenses, ground game, and paid petitioners. We are so grateful that you made that possible - we couldnt have done it without you!

But just imagine!

What if we had been able to use those resources for campaigning instead? How much more we could have accomplished? How much more visibility and press we could have garnered!

This is why today,Leo, I want to urge you to help us keep this momentum going.

We cant stop now!

Will you donate today to help us get into the debates?

The presidential debates are a critical element to the success of our campaign. If we can get into the debates, a new day will dawn. Without a doubt - it will be an absolute game-changer.

Evidence is mounting that there is a green sleeping giant out there among the national electorate. I would urge you ...

Dont listen to the national polls!

Because in some states, according to recent news from www.wethepeople.com, Ajamu and I are polling as high as 27%! See this graphic - the green squares are green support its even higher than Hillary Clinton! In Oregon, the polls are even showing to be as high as 69%!

Its my belief that the American electorate will surge green on election day - that there will be some big surprises! How could there not be? Were talking about Trump and Clinton, two of the most unpopular candidates in history!

The American people want more choices and more voices - and that will be evident on November 8th.

Will you donate today?

Help us continue the momentum now and into the future because ... we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Its in our hands!

Jill Stein
Green Party Candidate for President of the United States

For Principled Peaceful Civil Disobedience

Dear Leo,

URGENT! We want you to be the first to know -- warrants of arrest have been issued against Jill and Ajamu for their courageous act of solidarity at the Dakota Pipeline protests.

Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier of Morton county in South Dakota, is charging them with trespassing and criminal mischief.

And for what? For their commitment to defend the planet and stand in solidarity with the struggle of the Sioux people? For standing with those who are defending their rights to clean water and sacred burial grounds?

Today, we need your help.

Will you support Jill and Ajamu today with a protest donation of $49? Make your voice heard - we need to fight back and we wont be silenced!

How does the act of Jill and Ajamus peaceful civil disobedience compare to the crimes being committed by the fossil fuel industry - threatening the water of millions and using dog and pepper spray attacks on peaceful protectors of the land.

Sheriff Kirchmeier should be charging the oil company with crimes, not the protectors. In a recent statement to the press the sheriff was even quoted as saying, We must do everything we can to marginalize these protestors.

This kind of corruption and double standard exposes the class interests and political interests of the state once again. Will you give a protest donation $49 today and help us today?

During the event, Jill had this to say:

We are facing a climate emergency that requires us to halt any further investment in fossil fuel infrastructure, and instead to transition to 100% clean energy as soon as possible, stated Stein.

She added North Dakota authorities should be pressing charges against the real vandalism taking place at the Standing Rock Sioux reservation -- bulldozing sacred burial sites, unleashing vicious attack dogs, endangering drinking water and pushing us toward climate meltdown."

Energy Transfer is the name of the oil company responsible for the Dakota Access Pipeline, and apparently, our campaign is giving them a big headache.

Its apparent because they seem to be collaborating with their cronies at the state level - pulling out all the stops to issue arrest warrants for Jill and Ajamu!

We are the thorn in their side, the rock in their shoe - and glad to be.

As Ajamu Baraka, our vice presidential candidate, said:

Our campaign is all about standing up to the rich and powerful who believe in their right to exploit the rest of the planets beings and resources for their own profit. The state should be prosecuting the crimes of threatening the water of millions and the attacks on peaceful protestors.

The political revolution continues here. We will not stand by and watch the destruction of our planet and the brutal treatment of our First Nation brothers and sisters.

Hundreds of thousands are joining us. Will you?

Let's give the fossil fuel industry a run for their money. Please stand with us today with your protest donation and help us put people, peace, and the planet over profits!

If you dont, who will? As we say... it's in our hands!

Make your voice heard by donating today!

Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair
Jill Stein for President

P.S. The Stein/Baraka campaign will not stand for this criminal behavior from the oil companies. The fossil fuel industry is going to hear our voices loud and clear. Will you join us and let your voice be heard too?

P.P.S. By standing in unconditional solidarity with them in this fight, Jill and Ajamu are standing strong for our very collective survival. Will you stand with Jill and Ajamu as they fight to protect the earth and stand in full solidarity with Native People in their struggle for justice?

Gloria Mattera

Dear Leo,

Though this may have started as a presidential campaign, it has morphed into a movement.

Everywhere we go -- whether its the Democratic National Convention or the flood devastated areas of Louisiana -- people are clamoring for clean-money candidates who stand up for what the people need: a Green New Deal, a plan to end systemic racism, Medicare for All and canceling student debt.

Green politics proposes a fundamental shift in how we operate as a society.

That shift is taking place right now. Jill and Ajamu are going from media interview to interview, and our social media reach has soared.

To keep up our momentum, we need to think long-term. That means building Green Party membership, contributing financially when possible, volunteering on a regular basis and running in local elections.

Already, over 100 down-ballot Greens around the country are challenging the political establishment on climate change, jobs, healthcare, education, foreign policy and many other local issues.

Hit this button to become a volunteer for our movement.

Were building a national movement for a clean planet, peace and prosperity.

We definitely cant do it alone. Its a team effort -- and the stars of our team are people like you who had the courage one day to step up and get involved in shaping our common destiny.

Its in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka Campaign Team

P.S. The revolution wont happen without you. Wed love for you to join our rapidly growing volunteer team, especially if youve thought about running for office someday!

How to move the revolution forward

Dear Leo,

We were bombarded last night with your tweets and updates!

When Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka debuted on prime-time television last night during CNNs Green Town Hall, they spoke about creating 20 million jobs, canceling student debt, ending systemic racism and ending a militaristic foreign policy that fuels terrorism.

Their message clearly resonated with all of you, and weve been inundated with questions about how you can help Jill and Ajamu reach more people, get into the debates and win this election.

This campaign is as grassroots as presidential campaigns get.

With a tiny staff scattered throughout the country, we depend on committed folks like you who are itching for a revolution.

Will you step up today to keep our movement growing?

Visit our volunteer page to find out how you can get involved!

The revolution requires daily strides toward a just and compassionate future, and we need you to walk with us.

Its in our hands!

The Stein/Baraka Campaign Team

P.S. Were you inspired by the ideas you heard in last nights Green Town Hall? Join our campaign today!

Dear Leo,

This weekend, we hit a milestone. A few days later, I'm still stunned!

Ajamu Baraka and I got more media coverage than we could have anticipated (and more than any Green Party ticket has received since 2000) when we accepted the nomination for Vice President and President with a landslide 82 percent of the roll-call vote.

We're ecstatic about the outpouring of support from Green delegates from around the country.

Now were back to work.

Between talking about the #GreenNewDeal and canceling student debt to create an economy that works for all of us, we've been bombarded by the mainstream media (Fox News, The Guardian and The New York Times) and alternative media (Democracy Now!, The Young Turks and MintPress News), as well as countless other outlets.

Now, I'd like to share a few moments from this weekend:

Look past this moment. Build pressure. [That] checks the abuses of government, Julian Assange told the group of Green Party delegates, who had cheered him on with cries of Wikileaks! Wikileaks!

"It's not a revolution to watch a president drop a mic then drop a bunch of bombs on people, YahNe Ndgo told the audience. Ndgo was a Bernie-or-Bust activist until she threw her support behind our campaign.

A vote is only wasted when you vote against your conscience, said Martina Salinas, Green Party candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner.

"We understand the difference between a neofascist catastrophe and a neoliberal disaster," said scholar and activist Dr. Cornel West. "But we reject both.

Indigenous rights activist Rodolfo Muñoz said, The system is rigged. My people have known that for a long time. Muñoz is a Green Party candidate for Texas Supreme Court.

Cheri Honkala quoted African-American poet Langston Hughes before introducing Vice Presidential nominee Ajamu Baraka: "Let America be America again!"

"I've been committed to independent politics all my life, Ajamu said as he accepted the Vice Presidential nomination. "The electoral process is a way that we build power for the people."

Your support for our work to give power back to the American people keeps us going.

Its in our hands!

Green Party presidential nominee

We raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars in onE DAY as Jill exploded in the press! And...

Jill Stein's Platform Attracts
Bernie Sanders Supporters
as Poll Numbers Surge
--As quoted in the Inquisitr online article, August 7, 2016

Leo, we had the biggest fundraising day EVER in Jill Stein's Campaign for President during our first MONEY BOOM on Friday and Saturday, August 5-6.

The entire weekend of the Presidential Nominating Convention in Houston was packed with great news coverage (like the article above) and increasing momentum, including Jill's VP pick, human rights activist Ajamu Baraka.

And our fundraising efforts are packed with even more good news! The $249,000 we raised in onE DAY will likely all be doubled through federal matching funds! (All donations up to the first $250 per person are eligible to be doubled.)

So that $249,000 will probably be worth more like $498,000 dollars before we're done!

We raised nearly $1M before matching funds in July. Let's keep going and surpass that amazing number in August! If you didn't have a chance to contribute during the Money Boom, you can do so now by clicking here.

Thank you for supporting Jill. Your money will be well spent. Our new campaign commercials (all $650,000 of them) aired last week on MSNBC and other major broadcast channels. The feedback is great. We're gaining groundin fact, in a recent poll Jill is now at 6% among likely voters and 16% among Millennials!

Keep the faith and watch as Jill continues to explode into the national consciousness.

As she says, It's in our hands!

P.S. Great News! In an August 7 online article in the Inquisitr, author Frank Yemi writes,  According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump comes in fourth place behind both Gary Johnson and Jill Stein in new polls among young people.

P.P.S. The McClatchy poll shows the Republican nominee getting 1 in 10 votes, which comes to 9% among a younger demographic under the age of 30. Hillary Clinton leads with 41%, while Johnson is at 23 percent and Dr. Stein is at 16%.

That's incredibly good news! Let's keep going... Let's get Jill to 15% in the polls and get her into the debates! Your donations help us keep up our powerful online and broadcast media strategy. It's in our hands!

Gloria Mattera
Dear Leo,
No kidding! Cruz's non-endorsement of Trump at the RNC convention, plus his impassioned plea to vote your conscience, got a thumbs up from Jill.
"I rarely agree with Ted Cruz. But he's right that you shouldn't vote for a candidate just because a party tells you to. Vote your values," Stein tweeted late Wednesday.
No wonder people--voters with an intact conscience and moral compass like youare flooding to Jill's banner.
This past week:
  • We raised nearly $500,000 from individual donations in 7 days
  • Jill's recent livestream that we posted to the campaigns Facebook page was viewed over 300,000 times in less than 24 hours.
  • "Jill Stein" has been a trending topic on Facebook for at least 4 of the last 7 days, and over 90,000 new people have liked my Facebook page.
  • We got more new followers in the last week than Hillary Clinton!
  • We broke Facebook--At the rate we were growing we would have easily passed 100,000 new followers, if not for the fact that sometime around Sunday Facebook limited our ability to invite friends to like my page. (Not to worry. Apparently this is standard Facebook procedure when a page is growing too rapidly, so don't panic.)
  • We had an amazingly viral Twitter week too, trending for the first time ever and adding over 27,000 new followers in a week.
This is not rocket science. People are fed up . . . afraid . . . and sick and tired of having 90's style realpolitik shoved down their throats. We're stuffed with the politics of fear. If you doubt that, Trump's acceptance speech last night is proof positive that American politics have become the fine art of trying to scare the electorate into voting for manifestly unqualified or dangerous candidates.
Jill offers real solutions for
the greater good, not the lesser evil.
Yesterday's old answers and hate-mongering won't help us.
We must change the 4-year cycle of choosing the lesser of two evils.
With your help we will continue with our aggressive ballot access work in states where Jill needs to be on the ballot.
So here's the plan. To turbocharge our momentum, we're starting a weekly $5 Friday fundraiser. Every Friday we're asking those who can, to give $5.
You can give once or you can give every week. (And of course you can always give more than $5 if you wish!)
Why $5? Because many people can spare $5. We're all about being inclusive. And $5 piles up quick with relatively few people chipping in.
We have close to $300,000 supporters and we're growing everyday. We need just one percent--3000 supporters--to say, YES, I'll give $5 to pay for a robust expansion to our social media outreach (for example).
Don't worry, we have plenty of places where we can use the extra cash. And your money won't be wasted.
In fact, if you give now, your $5 (or more) will double to $10 because of federal matching funds.
Do not believe for a second that the greater good can't win.
Do not believe that by supporting Jill's presidential candidacy you are wasting your vote or making Trump inevitable.
Hillary could be just as bad. When it comes to wars of aggression, probably worse.
Shes got a horrifying track record on militarism, including leading the rush into Libya, her vote for the war in Iraq, and her threat to bomb Iran.
Hillary also supported the deportations of undocumented immigrantsincluding women and children.
And on climate, incredibly, she even established an office to promote fracking around the world - while she was Secretary of State.
We can do better.
Fact: Every progressive advance our nation has ever enjoyedfrom the vote for women to transgender rightshas been won by outsiders like us.
Income equality, climate change, racism, mass murdersthe solutions will not be found in the insanity of the 2 establishment parties. They will be found in us.
Thank you for supporting the Jill2016 Presidential campaign with your tweets, posts, financial support, and volunteer hours. Please consider forwarding this email to your friends so they can donate $5, too.
Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair
P.S. We do not take corporate contributions. It's up to you, me, and people like us. Please give $5 (or more) today. It's in our hands...

Dear Leo,
Were not standing for these games. For years, the establishment Democrats and Republicans have kept the Green Party in Missouri off the ballot. In every state where voter suppression like this occurs, weve been fighting.
And now, finally in Missouri, after a long, hard struggle, we may just win the battle to get our candidate, Jill Stein, on the ballot.
Why? Because this is the year of Green determination! This is the year that the Greens decided that no matter what it takes, we will get Jill on that ballot!
And as part of what it takes, the two Green Parties in the Show Me state, the Gateway Greens and the Progressives, merged into one powerful new political unit.
And with that newfound strength and determination, its only taken a couple of weeks for them to collect almost 11,000 signatures, well on the way to the 20,000 the party needs to ensure that Missourians will be able to vote for Jill Stein this November.
But Collecting These Signatures Has Cost Us!
It hasn't been cheap. Those 11,000 signatures now collectedwith 9,000 to gowill end up costing our campaign at least $40,000.
Just so you know, we're a pay-as-you-go clean money campaign. We dont get money from big corporate donors. Our donations come from honest, grassroots supporters like you!
Hard working petitioners are enduring the hot, humid Missouri heat to make sure Jill is on the ballot this fall. Will you sponsor one today for as little as $15? Thats one whole hour of petitioning!
August 1stThe Day Missouri Comes Due
Why? Because we have a big challenge before August 1. It's a big challenge because to qualify, the signatures we turn in on that day must be from currentlyregistered voters. And youd be surprised how many people think they are registered, but are not...
Youd also be surprised at how many signatures are disqualified because they don't match the signature or name on the registration rolls...
And youd likely be astonished - not to mention outraged - at how well our Democratic and Republican elected office holders can disqualify signatures wholesale. Just because.
So we have to be sure and collect more signatures than we need because so many get disqualified. Hard working petitioners are enduring the hot, humid Missouri heat to make sure Jill is on the ballot this fall. Will you sponsor one today for as little as $15? Thats one whole hour of petitioning!

And its really very expensive to hire petitioners. Its going to cost our campaign. Will you help make sure that our Ballot Access team has the money it needs to pay the petitioners to collect signatures over the next couple of weeks and make sure Jill is on the ballot in Missouri?

It's easy to helpgive what you can today.
By giving at least $15 today, your donation will payone of our petitioners for 1 hour of collecting signatures.
Whats more, right now, every dollar you give up to the first $250 will be doubled, 1:1, by federal matching funds.
So your $15 donation becomes $30 for Jilland 2 hours of petitioning.
Theres no better time to give than now.Theres also no more urgent time. Give now, so the Ballot Access Team has the ability to hire all the petitioners we'll need in Missouri (and in several other states, too) on August 1st.
Lets all make history and put Jill over the top! Give today.
Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair
P.S. Is it right that we have to fight so hard and spend so much to get on the ballot in midwest states like Missouri? No. Is it something we must overcome? Yes. Is it something we will overcome? You bet. Like Jill says, we're not standing for these games. We're going for ballot access in all 50 states. Will you contribute today to help ensure we get Jill on the ballot in Missouri?

P.P.S. The stakes are too high this year - the opportunity is too great. The moment of change is upon us. The voters of Missouri deserve a choice in November - they deserve to be able to vote for Jill Stein on November 8. Will you give today to ensure that they can?
Be sure to use this link to give through our website
to ensure your donation is doubled.

The Jill Stein $1M Clean Money Challenge...
Did We Set Our $1 Million Goal Too Low?
Dear Leo,
Well, it looks like we vastly underestimated the passion of activists like you to support Jill's campaign for President.
We started on Tuesday with a goal of raising $500,000 by August 6the end of federal matching funds.
It looks likely we'll blow past a half-million dollars in a matter of days. Really.
Are You a Former Bernie Supporter?
Since July 12, the day that Bernie endorsed Hillary, our phones, website, and donations have been off the hook. We can't even guess how many are Bernie supporters. But we know many areand welcome to every one of you.
The good news is, Jill's platform is Bernie's, only better. (For example, Jill calls for an end to fossil fuel use by 2030, and shows how we can do it.) The ideas and solutions that riveted tens of thousands of people to Bernie's speeches have been solid planks and do-able plans in Jill's platform for years.
Put Your Money Where Your Hope Is
No wonder donations have rushed in! Our supporters, like Bernie's, feel you should put your money where your hope is.
How much hope? Well, from Tuesday, July 12, to 10AM yesterday, we've taken in $302,190.72 in online donations from thousands of donors like you!
And a whole lot of it was $27 at a time.
We're honored by each $27 donationby every donation! But, holy moly, our initial goal was only $500,000 with an eye towards earning federal matching funds to double that amount to $1M by August 6!
So, technically... We only have about $200,000 to go. And we just started!
Support Jill Now!
Here's the new challenge: Give today, as much as you are able. Let's see how fast and how far we can run up the total for Jill by the end of matching funds.
Matching funds end at midnight, August 6, the day Jill is formally nominated in Houston. Every qualifying donation before then will be matched 1:1.
As Jill says, its in our hands!
Gloria Mattera
Campaign Chair
P.S. on July 12, a Bernie supporter wrote to say she had switched her party affiliation to Green *and* donated $27 to Jill. She said, "We brought Bernie out of nowhere, let's do it for Jill when we *all* get to vote in November."Let's astound everyone and see just how much we can raise together by August 6. We'll update you every day!

Dear Leo --

People ask me all the time: whats next for our revolution?
Maybe not in those words. But everyone wants to know what our plan is to turn the deeply held values we share into our political reality.
So lets talk about it - tonight.
There is nothing more inspiring than what we can accomplish together when we break free from the 2-party trap and build a winning movement to put people, planet and peace over profit.
And there is nothing the corporate predators who control both establishment parties fear more than an informed and engaged movement of people like you and me.
So I want to tell you about our plans and answer your questions: How do we get the word out about the campaign? Whats the plan to get on the ballot? What about the debates? How can I help?
In the meantime, Id appreciate very much if you spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for all you do to build the movement for an America that works for all of us.
Its in our hands!
Hi Leo, Jill Here--

I'm flying back to Massachusetts today from campaign stops in Georgia, Kansas and Missouri, but I had to take a minute to share with you the fantastic news about Illinois from Nancy Wade, our Ballot Access Coordinator who led our team to victory.
Because of her leadership and incredible ground game, WE ARE on THE BALLOT IN ILLINOIS!
Illinois was our toughest challenge yet. I am so proud of everyone! Here's what Nancy has to say...
June 27, Springfield, IL--Nancy Wade and her tired, happy Illinois Team delivering over 50,000 signatures to the Illinois Secretary of State.
Heroes of Democracy! You slam-dunked it! Illinois is safe... Jill is on the ballot and her Illinois race has begun.
Nancy goes on,
Illinois required 25,000 valid signatures of registered voters gathered in 90 days to get Jill on the ballot. To be safe, we collected more than 50,000 signaturesbecause that's what 3rd parties have to do to make sure we get on the ballot.
But June 27 wasnt the end. After filing, the signatures could be challenged for five business days. No one came forward.
Jill2016 is on THE BALLOT!
Were safe! No one can challenge the 50,000+ signatures that our volunteers and paid petitioners sweated out of the hot, Illinois summer sun in just 90 days, she added.
Thanks to all those who who worked so incredibly hard. I am so proud of all the amazing volunteers and paid petitioners who came together to make this happen!
The forces that tried to keep us off the ballot, Nancy said, don't understand what a great unifying effort having to accomplish this becomes. We surmount the barriers and keep going -- ever stronger!
Team Illinois doing hour after hour of last-minute data entry to prepare 50,000+ signatures for the June 27 filing.
The Team Leaders around the state stepped up to help volunteers and paid petitioners get activated and inspired to keep going. And of course we couldn't have done it without the amazingly dedicated volunteer petitioners for whom contributing to the party is not extra, it is essential.
Best of all, Nancy says, We had scores of young people from the Bernie camp contacting us to volunteer. We worked to not only activate them but to capture their contact info for future party building.
Let's take this success and roll with it right into campaign 2016 in Illinois for Jill Stein, Green Party candidate for President, and our Illinois candidates!
Nancys final words?
Last-minute Drama! Bundling petitions from north and south in the state on the day of delivery in Springfield at a downtown pizza restaurant.
Onward for the Heroes of Democracy!
WOW! Illinois! What a win!
This is just the latest sign of how fast and strong and nimble our campaign is and how people will not settle for Hillary or Trump

But we're far from finished with getting on ballots.
What's our next must-win state?

Georgia's filing date is July 12one week from now! We won a big victory March 16 this year, when the court struck down requiring 54,000 verified signatures to place a candidate on the ballot. Now we need 7,500 signatures, a dramatic 85% reduction.
Thats easier, but easier said than done. Those 7,500 signatures mean we need to collect about 15,000 to be safe. Those 15,000 Georgia signatures will cost $40,000 or more to collect.
Jill rallying with young voterson abolishing student debt.
Will you help? Our plan is on track to get me on every ballot. Georgia is our next must win stateand we have about 26 more to go after that.
Please give today so we can win Ballot Access in every state. Voters deserve a real choice on November 8. The Donald and Hillary are not inevitable. But if Im not on the ballot... we can't change a thing.
Give today to choose the greater good over the lesser evil.
Give today to make sure the voters have a real choice on November 8.
Give today as if our lives depend on itbecause they do! Give today, because people and planet must be put first above profits.
Donate Today and Double Your Money through 1:1 Federal Matching Funds
DOUBLE YOUR DONATION FOR FREE TODAY--Whatever you give will be doubled with federal matching funds, up to the first $250 you give! You can make a huge impact on ballot access in Georgia by giving today.
It's in our hands!

Green Party of the United States
P.S. Good News from Pennsylvania! Earlier this week Federal Judge Lawrence Stengel reduced the number of signatures that we need to gather to get on the Pennsylvania ballot from 22,000 to 5,000.
This is a huge victory! Like this years federal court victory in Georgia, this opens up one of the major swing states to Jills candidacy!

June 21, 2016
Dear Leo --

After last nights primaries, the mainstream media is proclaiming Hillary Clinton the winner of the Democratic Presidential nomination.
The establishment parties have now anointed the two most disliked presidential candidates in history.
And the American people are right to mistrust these two.
Clinton is a servant of Wall Street and a war hawk who isnt consistent about much of anything except her own ambition.
Trump is a lying, ignorant bigot who has enriched himself through fraudulent schemes, preying on low-income people, and buying political favors.
We urgently need to give millions of Americans desperate for something better a real choice this November.
60% of Americans say we need a new major party. And 55% say theyd prefer an independent to Clinton and Trump - including an amazing 91% of young people.
Meanwhile, the most popular candidate in the country, Bernie Sanders, running on a progressive agenda similar to ours, has been railroaded by the rigged Democratic Party primary.
Enough is enough. The two-party system has never been worse, and its never been more of a threat to people, planet, and peace.
Our country, and our world, are crying out for alternatives. Thats why we urgently need to build the Green Party for the tens of millions who are desperate for a better way forward.
Can we rise to this historic moment and make sure every American has the choice of voting Green this November?
Whether our campaign is your Plan A or your Plan B, its time we all join together to make sure Americans don't have to choose between two lethal choices in November.
Thank you for all that you do.
Its in our hands!
Dear Leo --

I have exciting news for you: a new national poll shows our campaign gaining support!

I wanted to make sure you saw the petition to include our campaign in presidential polls. We've already had over 10,000 people sign in the first week - let's get that to 15,000 today to make sure the pollsters get the message that we won't be ignored!

The new poll, released June 1st by Quinnipiac University, put our campaign at 3% nationally in a 4-way race - up from the first national poll that had us at 2% three weeks ago.

That 3% translates to almost 4 million people who would vote Green if the election were held today. That's an increase of 750% over where we finished in 2012.

Of course, we still have plenty of room to grow - and that's exactly what we plan to do.

Being included in more polls brings more media attention. That gets our message out and brings supporters flooding in - which makes us rise in the polls.
But that will only happen if we get in more polls. Thats where I need your help.
There are many reasons why our campaign should be included in polls. Thanks to supporters like you, our campaign is surging from strength to strength:
  • We qualified for federal matching funds earlier than any Green campaign yet.
  • Were winning ballot access across the country, and are already on the ballot in states with 290 electoral votes - more than enough to win the presidency.
  • Were drawing increased attention from big media. Just last week, I had an interview in the New York Daily News, the nations 5th-largest newspaper. Weve recently been featured by Rolling Stone, GQ, Vice, NowThis, The Atlantic, Truthdig, and Salon, and mentioned by the New York Times, CNN, Time Magazine and NPR.
All this shows that millions of people are hungry for something better than what the establishment parties are offering.
In fact, a recent Gallup Poll found that an incredible 60% of Americans agree that the Democratic and Republican parties do such a poor job representing the American people that a new major party is needed.
And a May 18th Data Targeting poll found that 55% of Americans want an independent candidate to run against Clinton and Trump - including an amazing 91% of voters under 29!
With the majority of Americans searching for an alternative to Clinton/Trump, theres no way to justify not including our campaign in polls.
But I need your help to make sure the pollsters get that message loud and clear.
Thank you for all that you do - together we are blazing the trail to real democracy and a better future.
Its in our hands!
Dear Leo --

I have exciting news for you: a recent national poll shows our campaign polling now where Bernie Sanders was in January!
The poll, released May 10th by Public Policy Polling, put our campaign at 2% nationally in a 4-way race.
That translates to 2.6 million people who would vote Green if the election were held today - already an increase of 450% over where we finished in 2012.
Of course, we still have plenty of room to grow - and we plan to.

Jill Stein

Dear Leo,
If you've ever wondered if Jill's candidacy is making an impact as the sane alternative to the two deeply disliked major party candidates, consider 3 facts:
First: Jill recently polled 2% on Fox News (!)--almost exactly where Bernie Sanders polled when he announced
Second: Facebook Likes are exploding. Recently, new likes on the campaign's Facebook page have jumped from about 1,500 per week in April to 17,000 per week as of May 1, 2016, a growth increase of over 1000%.
This explosion in social media interest is even more significant when compared to the Democratic and Republican candidates.
  • Donald J. Trump earned a 1.8% rate of growth last week.
  • U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders earned a 1% rate of growth last week.
  • Former Secretary of State Hillary Clintons rate of growth last week was 0%.
By comparison, Jill Stein earned a rate of growth last week of 11.3%, proof that her campaign is drawing a rapidly increasing amount of interest as the primary season draws to an end with voters more and more dissatisfied at the choices that the establishment parties are offering.
And, third: just this past weekend, the packed annual Left Forum, in New York City, held a straw poll among the attendants. Look at what happened.
That's right: activists on the ground rejected Hillary, Trump, and Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party) in favor of Jill.
The news keeps getting better. Among voters under 29, a whopping 91 percent favor an independent candidate, according to a Data Targeting poll. Plus 65 percent of respondents are at least somewhat, pretty or very willing to support a candidate for president who is not Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.
Jill is on a roll She needs our help today
When Jill reports back from the field, she talks about feeling the seachange. The pace is quickening, and news interviews are falling into her lap like summer rain. Her name-recognition will start to skyrocket.
Will you help Jill and the campaign keep the momentum going?
We are currently seeking to hire aYoung Voter Coordinator who can work on College Campuses and with voters under 30 to turn them out for Jill. When they hear her platform and understand it's even more aggressive than Senator Sanders, they listenand they listen hard. Can you donate today to support outreach to the Millennials who will inherit this earth?
Our scrappy campaign operating on a shoestring, but we're starting to experience the Bernie phenomenon. More and more people are raising their hands, asking for information, volunteering.
The snowball effect really is happening!
We're rapidly gaining speed, but we depend on your dollars and your vision. Give today and every dollar you donate up to the first $250 will be doubled through federal matching fundsat no cost to you!
It was incredibly exciting to be in New York and watch as that straw poll was taken. To me, it meant more than all of the media polls, because it was real people who are activists and will work their hearts outlike youto create a new reality for our nation that puts people and planet ahead of profits.
As Jill says, it's in our hands. Please give today.
Gloria Mattera,
Campaign Co-Chair
Jill Stein for President 2016

P.S. one last factoid: Polls have shown that up to 33% of Sanders supporters will not vote for Clinton. Across the board, voters give both Clinton and Trump double-digit net unfavorability ratings, especially independents who now make up 50% of the electorate, and voters under 29. Please click here today to maximize federal matching funds.

Dear Leo --

I'm writing today to share a bit of personal information that Jill Stein would never mention: It's her birthday!

I hope you'll join me in showing your love for this extraordinary woman by gifting Jill with a contribution today for her campaign for President of the United States on the Green Party ticket.

Most of us would take our birthday off. Yet Jill is out fighting the good fight in the Pacific Northwest, taking to the water with kayactivists in Anacortes, WA to draw attention to the critical need to Break Free From Fossil Fuels.

They're challenging the refineries that produce 47% of the fossil fuels consumed in the Pacific Northwest. Shell and Tesoro own the refineries that are responsible for devastating refinery pollution north of Seattle.

I'm not surprised she chose to be part of Break Free's 12 days of global civil disobedience in Washington state over a nice dinner with family and friends at home in Massachusetts. This is what Jill has been doing for decades, and will continue to do until our nation and world is healed.

You know, I think about this a lot: The corporate media paints Bernie Sanders as the radical progressive in the race for the White House. And he certainly IS compared to Clinton or (heaven forbid), Trump.

But if you want to talk radical and progressive, no other presidential candidate comes close to Jill Stein.

Here's just one example. In 2012, before I agreed to be Jill's Vice Presidential running mate, I asked her to come to Philly to help protect the life and home of one individual, Miss Fran.

Miss Fran was losing her home to foreclosure. Jill immediately embraced the idea of participating in non-violent disobedience to stop Miss Fran's foreclosure. She flew to Philly, joined the protest, and went to jail.
Jill put her body on the line for Miss Fran.

That was the first time, but certainly not the last time, Jill went to jail.
Jill also put her body on the line fighting to stop the Keystone Pipeline.

Then Jill and I were arrested together October 17, 2012 in New York when we walked onto the campus of Hofstra University and demanded that, because we were on the ballot for 85% of U.S. voters, Jill be allowed to be part of the Presidential debate.

Sitting 9 hours handcuffed sideways to metal chairs, I got to know a great deal about Dr. Jill Stein.
  • Her unwavering perseverence to go forward through a very difficult time;
  • Her understanding of the issues facing many people, especially frontline communities in this country;
  • Her understanding of the need to confront discrimination in this country and to call attention to racist and discriminatory practices taking place that goes way beyond just fighting for ballot access or truly participatory democracy;
  • Her commitment to wanting to put an end to the theft of indigenous people's lands;
  • Her iron will to end the lack of employment and housing for people with disabilities;
  • Her commitment to end the ongoing discrimination to the LGBT community.
Jill has the strength and vision to look squarely at the tough issues we face without flinching. For example, as a doctor, Jill also deeply understands the reality of environmental racism; the devastation caused by urban food deserts; the fact that obesity is inextrably linked with health issues.

Jill dares to be the doctor who dares to question why we have hunger in the first place in a country that has enough to feed everybody.

These are all issues that most candidates won't genuinely address, if they'll talk about them at all. But Jill does. And she will continue to put her life on the line to create
change every day.

Happy Birthday Jill. As your former running mate, your comrade, and your friend, I'm so glad you're continuing your journey in practicing political medicine.

May all of us live in a world someday where we are free from unemployment, hunger, and homelessness. With Jill Stein, we'll get there.
Cheri Honkala

2012 VP Candidate, Green Party

P.S. Jill turns 66 today.
If you can, please donate $66.Your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, by federal matching funds up to the first $250 you give. To make sure your birthday donation is doubled to $132 through matching funds, please click here to make sure you donate through our website.

Jill Stein for President United States

Dear Leo --

I wanted you to be among the first to hear our fantastic news: the FEC has officially approved our campaign for federal matching funds!

We expect to get our first matching funds check of $100,000 this week, and a second check for $130,000 in short order.

What are federal matching funds? Well, the bottom line is that now, every dollar you give our campaign up to $250 will be doubled with federal money.

And heres the best part: we can double every persons donation from February 2015 through at least the beginning of August 2016!

Will you help us keep our momentum growing by chipping in $3 today? Your donation will be instantly doubled by federal matching funds!

This is a monumental achievement. This year, we qualified for matching funds nearly 8 months earlier than in our 2012 campaign. In fact, thanks to thousands of visionary supporters like you, we qualified earlier than any Green campaign in history!

Thats because voters like you are fed up with the the failed, predatory political duopoly. Our campaign offers a very real alternative to both establishment parties, with bold, achievable solutions on everything from building a new Green economy and stopping climate change, to solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and legalizing marijuana.

And every solution puts people and planet first.

Please add your first $3 contribution to our campaign today. It will be automatically doubled to $6 through federal matching funds!

The powers that be, particularly Secretary Clinton, call anything other than the same old corporate politics pie in the sky.

In fact, the other night a top Clinton surrogate told a small crowd that Hillary Clinton was under attack, and her supporters needed to "stand up and fight back, stand up against those idealists." This while Hillary was busy collecting up to $353,000 per couple at George Clooneys house.

Who wants a president who scorns idealism and vision? Who wants a president who is completely bought by the billionaire class?

Big, bold ideas built this country, and big, bold, Green ideas will save it and our planet. We have an incredible chance this year to shape the conversation, the agenda, and the solutions to our nations problems and the global challenges we face like stopping climate crisis and making world peace.

Voters like you are hungry for politicians who solve problems, not pass the buck. No wonder our campaign is getting increased media attention daily from CNN, NBC, C-SPAN and others, and more and more influential voices are lifting up our campaign every day.

Your donation will help us keep ramping up our campaign and creating the kind of visibility that will change American politics forever.

Its long past time to put an end to the obscene greed of the billionaire class the terrible reality of citizens bankrupted or dying because we dont have national health care... students struggling for 20 years or more to pay off crushing college debt and a dangerously polluted, warming planet to leave our children and future generations.

Qualifying for Federal Matching Funds means many, many people like you already support our message and solutions.

Please add your donation today and double your impact for people, planet and peace automatically through Federal Matching Funds.

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo --

After the epic failure of the corporate-friendly Paris Climate Summit to produce a binding, substantive treaty, we the people must lead the way to end the use of destructive fossil fuels and choose a just and clean energy future.

Unless America rapidly and radically alters course, we are headed towards climate catastrophe.

Thats why Im headed to Washington State to support the international Break Free from Fossil Fuels campaign. Im excited to join the Indigenous Day of Action march and rally in Anacortes, WA on Saturday May 14.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration earlier this month warned that sea levels could rise by roughly three meters or nine feet by 2050-2060, confirming a warning from Dr. James Hansen and other leading scientists.

This news is the equivalent of a World War II attack not merely on Pearl Harbor, but on all harbors.

All coastal population centers partly or completely underwater. Maritime trade, over. Hundreds of millions of climate refugees. Coastal nuclear power plants, flooded. An epidemic of Fukushimas.

In other words, this foretells events so catastrophic, they cannot be allowed to occur.

From May 4th to 15, climate justice activists are mobilizing worldwide to keep fossil fuels in the ground and accelerate a just transition to 100% renewable energy and a sustainable future for us all. Direct actions including nonviolent civil disobedience - are being planned at locations all over the world.

I urge everyone who is able to participate in the six regional demonstrations being planned across the US. Im taking part in demonstrations at the Shell and Tesoro refineries near Anacortes, WA which are the largest source of carbon pollution in the Northwest and refine 47% of all the gas and diesel consumed in the region.

Other major US actions will take place in Los Angeles; Albany NY; Chicago; DC; and Denver.

Saying yes to wind, water and solar also means immediately saying no to fossil fuels, including natural gas.

Transitioning to 100% clean energy is the path to full employment and a healthier community. It's also the only way forward to a future in which we can survive and thrive.

We need to mobilize like we did after Pearl Harbor to rapidly transition to 100% clean energy.

Please help us build the movement to make it happen by signing and sharing my call for a Green New Deal today!

Climate change is the single greatest threat to the survival of humanity on the planet. It requires immediate action for a revolutionary transformation of our society. I hope you'll join me to make that transformation happen.

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo --

The 2016 primary season is exposing a crisis of democracy in America.

The prevalence of voter suppression, from voters forced to stand in line for five hours in Arizona to over one hundred thousand voters purged from the rolls in New York, is inexcusable.

Meanwhile in North Carolina, a federal judge has upheld new voting restrictions, including a voter ID law that will disproportionately block poor and minority voters from the polls.

Its no secret that reducing voter turnout benefits the political establishment.

Its time to bring real democracy to America by eliminating unfair barriers to voting and ensuring every vote counts.

Join my call to establish a Constitutional right to vote today!

It may surprise you that the US Constitution does not explicitly guarantee our right to vote. Thats why establishing an explicit Constitutional right to vote is critical to overcoming voter suppression.

Across the country, we see people who do everything theyre supposed to, yet their votes are not counted due to the negligence of election officials. All too often, these disenfranchised voters are disappeared from official election results with no legal recourse.

An explicit Constitutional right to vote would empower Americans to challenge systemic voter suppression and restore the integrity of our elections.

If youre concerned about the wave of voter suppression, add your voice to the call to establish a Constitutional right to vote!

Voter suppression issues in state after state are symptomatic of an electoral system designed to prop up the establishment political parties.

We see the same pattern everywhere that partisan appointees control the electoral process: the establishment gains power, and the voters lose power.

Its time to take control of elections away from the parties, and put them in the hands of the people through independent citizen boards in charge of everything from voter registration to redistricting.

Its also past time to discard the obsolete first-past-the-post voting system and adopt improved voting systems already used successfully around the world.

The current voting system has most voters feeling trapped between two parties that are growing more and more out of touch with the American people.

With polls showing record unpopularity for the Democratic and Republican front-runners, were facing the repugnant prospect of a general election where more voters are voting against what they fear than are voting for what they believe in.

We can solve the lesser-evil dilemma in a heartbeat by enacting Ranked Choice Voting, which ensures that if your first choice doesnt win, your vote is automatically reassigned to your second choice, freeing voters to support the candidates they most agree with.

And to bring real democracy to the United States, we need proportional representation, which gives you the freedom to vote for the representation you want, knowing thats what youll get.

Countries with proportional representation, which includes most Western democracies, have significantly higher voter turnout because people are more likely to participate in democracy when they know their voice will be represented, even when theyre in the minority.

All of these reforms - proportional representation, ranked choice voting, independent election boards, and more - would move America closer to real democracy and help break the grip of the elite special interests who have hijacked our government.

But it all starts with fighting back against voter suppression, and the best way to do that is with an explicit Constitutional right to vote.

Sign and share my call for a Constitutional right to vote today!

By standing together for our fundamental right to vote, we can build an unstoppable movement for an America, and a world, that works for all of us.

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo --

As a medical doctor and public health advocate, people ask me all the time if marijuana is dangerous.

Yes, marijuana is dangerous - because its illegal. Its not inherently dangerous. Its certainly less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, which are perfectly legal.

The real danger of marijuana is the violence of the underground drug economy created by prohibition.

Legalizing marijuana will end that violence, much like ending alcohol prohibition ended the violence of the illegal alcohol economy.

Join my call to legalize marijuana nationwide!

Yes, legalize it. Its time to take marijuana off the black market, end crime and violence related to marijuana trafficking, stop wasting money and ruining lives by prosecuting victimless crimes, reduce prison populations, increase tax revenue, allow sick people their medicine, let farmers grow marijuana and hemp, and give responsible adults their freedom by legalizing it!

As President, one of my first actions would be to order the DEA and the Justice Department to cease and desist all attempts to harass or prosecute medical marijuana clinics or other legitimate marijuana-related businesses that are operating under state laws.

I would also direct DEA to remove marijuana from Schedule 1, the most dangerous category of drugs, and place it in a more appropriate category as determined by medical science.

Twenty-four states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. Four states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for recreational use.

Since the first retail marijuana stores opened on January 1st, 2014, the state of Colorado has benefited from a decrease in crime rates, a decrease in traffic fatalities, an increase in tax revenue and economic output from retail marijuana sales, and an increase in jobs.

And hundreds of thousands of patients suffering from chronic pain and cancers are benefiting from the availability of medical marijuana under state laws.

Like Colorado, we can regulate marijuana in a similar way to alcohol once its legal.

This would prevent billions of dollars in profits from pouring into the black market, and would greatly reduce the violence associated with illegal marijuana sales, including the drug wars ravaging Mexico and Central America.

It just makes sense - sign and share my call to legalize marijuana nationwide today!

Make no mistake, ending marijuana prohibition would be a huge win for freedom and social justice, and a major step towards the just, Green future we deserve.

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo --

This tax day, lets talk about the number one way the US government wastes our money.

The best way to rein in wasteful federal spending is to slash the dangerously bloated military budget by at least 50%.

In addition to bankrupting us financially and morally, the inflated military budget has created a trigger-happy foreign policy, leading to disastrous military interventions and regime change. In the Middle East, this has produced failed states, mass refugee migrations, and ever-worsening terrorist threats.

Instead of needless and destructive wars that make us less safe, not more safe, its time to bring our tax dollars home to rebuild America. We can build real security by funding schools, creating jobs, providing universal healthcare, repairing our infrastructure and funding the transition to 100% clean renewable energy.

Join my call to cut military spending by at least 50% and bring our tax dollars home today!

Over half of federal discretionary spending, the portion of the federal budget decided by Congress each year, goes to military spending. President Obama has requested roughly $600 billion for this years Pentagon budget. If we include spending on nuclear weapons, Veterans Administration costs, and the militarys portion of the national debt, we are spending over $1 trillion on the military each year.

In comparison, federal spending in other areas like education, agriculture, transportation, housing, science, energy and the environment is miniscule. For example, military spending is 25 times greater than the budget for energy and the environment, at a time when even the Pentagon admits that climate change is a dire and growing threat to our security.

President Eisenhowers dire warnings about the military industrial complex acquiring undue power over our government and stifling democracy have come true.

Far too much of the military budget has become wasteful corporate welfare, and war profiteers drive our foreign policy. In 2014, military contractors gave $8.9 million to Democrats and and $13.5 million to Republicans in Congress.

Profit-driven military adventurism is not making us more secure, its making the world more dangerous for Americans and everyone else. We need to refocus our military on defending our country, not dominating the globe.

Join my call to slash military spending and reinvest in real security today!

As President, I would remove American troops from unnecessary bases around the world. The US spends a hundred billion dollars per year maintaining over 1,000 military facilities in more than 130 countries.

Much of what we spend our military budget on is morally wrong. We have killed and destroyed the lives of millions of civilians in wars for oil. We routinely invest American tax dollars in propping up governments and dictators that systematically violate the human rights of their own citizens. The escalation of the use of drones under the Obama administration has killed an untold number of civilians.

I would also root out the massive corruption in military spending. A failed attempt to audit the Department of Defense during the Clinton administration found that $2.3 trillion of $7 trillion in transactions could not be justified, suggesting that up to a third of DOD expenses may be due to waste or fraud.

War profiteering by military contractors - which has been rampant in Iraq and Afghanistan - should be eliminated and prosecuted. The revolving door between government and military contractors must be shut.

We would save up to a trillion dollars in coming years by canceling obsolete or unnecessary projects like the F-35, the new strategic bomber, and the Littoral Combat Ship. We would save an additional trillion dollars over a decade by canceling the development of new nuclear weapons, which threatens to start a dangerous new nuclear arms race.

Today we must take seriously Dr. Martin Luther Kings warning that a nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

By cutting dangerous military spending and making the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, we can lower taxes for the vast majority of Americans, and ensure that our tax dollars go towards the things that actually improve our lives: jobs, education, healthcare, and preventing climate catastrophe.

At the same time, we can improve national and global security, with a foreign policy founded on international law and human rights, not on maximizing profits for the weapons industry.

Help me build a movement to make it happen: sign and share my call to cut military spending by at least 50% and bring our tax dollars home to rebuild America!

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo --

The student debt crisis is real. 43 million Americans and counting are now shackled to over $1.3 trillion in student loan debt. And the average class of 2015 graduate with student loans has over $35,000 of debt.

This is inexcusable. Why does our country force young people who want an education to become indentured servants to Wall Street?

Join my call to cancel student debt and make higher education free today!

Im supporting the Million Student March Against Racism and Student Debt, taking place at campuses across the country today, because burdening young people with crushing debt holds back not only their personal potential, but the potential of our entire society.

Weve all heard the argument that higher education is a ticket to good jobs, so students should have to pay for it. But thats not true in todays low-wage, part-time, insecure economy.

The truth is that even before tuition rates and student loans started skyrocketing in recent years, the cost of higher education was a major barrier to economic and social mobility in the US.

The socioeconomic and racial disparities in higher education today are simply intolerable. Forget the myth of meritocracy - our higher education system reinforces inequality.

Too many young people are unable to afford education at all, and too many of those who do take loans are unable to find good jobs after they graduate.

These students know that without higher education they will have no economic security, but all too often the reward for getting a college degree is in reality a punishment - from which there is no escape.

I have heard countless heartbreaking stories of people - some who graduated decades ago - who are saddled with crushing student debt, no matter how hard they work.

These people did nothing wrong but try to improve their lives through education. Instead they find themselves pinned down by debt for years, decades, even lifetimes.

This is quite simply a predatory system that needs to be abolished.

Join my call to cancel student debt and make higher education free today!

We bailed out bankers who crashed our economy with $4 trillion worth of quantitative easing. Why not bail out our students?

Using quantitative easing to repay $1.3 trillion in student debt would unleash enormous productivity and creative power, providing a major boost to the real economy.

Abolishing this illegitimate debt would free young people to use their ingenuity and creativity to re-imagine our economy and society, as each generation must.

And after we free one generation from Wall Street, we can do the same for future generations by making higher education free, as many other countries have already done.

We know that free higher education pays for itself: when the GI Bill offered free college education to soldiers returning from World War II, every taxpayer dollar invested in free higher education was returned 7 times over in increased tax revenue and other public benefits.

Making higher education free is not only the right thing to do, it just makes good economic sense.

The only thing standing in the way is the profit-hungry Wall Street bankers who fund both the Democratic and Republican parties.

But we can beat them.

All we have to do is get the word out to 43 million Americans that they can check the Green box to cancel their student debt this November.

43 million people in debt - plus supportive family members - is a winning plurality of the vote. So we can actually win the election on the power of this issue alone.

You can help by signing and sharing my call to cancel student debt and make higher education free today.

A future free of student debt really is in our hands!

Dear Leo --

The bombshell Panama Papers leak reveals where the global economic and political elite converge in the shadowy world of tax havens. It's a wake-up call that todays world has become the textbook definition of oligarchy: rule by a few wealthy elites.

And the stage was set for rampant secrecy, corruption and inequality by trade agreements championed by Democrats and Republicans alike. In fact, President Obama pushed through a trade agreement with Panama despite warnings that it was an open invitation to massive tax evasion.

We need to scrap the bipartisan consensus on trade that has enriched the global elite while throwing jobs, workers rights, environmental protections and financial regulation under the bus.

Join my call to replace rigged, secretive free trade agreements with transparent fair trade today!

Today our world is run by the wealthiest of the wealthy, who buy and market politicians like any other commodity.

One such politician is Bill Clinton, whose enduring political legacy is being the salesman for corporate globalization. Clinton took the selling of our political system to special interests to a whole new level, and in return those special interests have fueled his and Hillarys fortunes, both political and personal.

One of the major achievements of Bill Clintons presidency was pushing through NAFTA with bipartisan support in Congress. President Obama also pushed through additional free trade agreements shortly after taking office, including the deal with Panama.

The Panama Papers leak shows how the global elite and their sponsored politicians have made obscene profits from the predatory enterprises that thrive in the shadows of the globalized economy.

This should be the last straw. Weve seen enough to know that this global economic order is corrupt, unjust, and unsustainable. It needs to be replaced now - starting with trade deals.

Sign and share my call to replace corporate trade agreements with fair trade today!

Fair trade means trade agreements that are written and approved transparently and democratically, and that strengthen workers rights, environmental protections, and financial regulations, rather than weakening them.

Replacing free trade with fair trade is a first step to rolling back the power of the oligarchs, which has been rapidly overtaking whatever democracy America had.

The Supreme Court has sanctioned the buying of elections by a handful of rich individuals, while approving the disenfranchisement of tens of millions of Americans from the voting booth.

We know the establishment parties wont act to help us. After the Republican Party joined with the Democrats to willingly ship millions of jobs overseas in exchange for campaign cash from trade lobbyists, GOP candidates for President are cynically trying to harness the anger of the working people whose futures they sold. Meanwhile, the Democratic front runner is a paid spokesperson for the global corporate elite.

Whats truly shocking is that so many billionaires lack even the basic decency to pay taxes to their country like the rest of us.

As President, I will ensure that the rich pay their fair share of taxes so that we can provide all Americans with education, jobs, healthcare, and other necessities.

Together we can create an America and a world that works for all of us.

Its in our hands!

Dear Leo,

When I was growing up in Highland Park, a suburb north of Chicago, I had no idea that in 2016 I would be asking you and other activists to help me get on the ballot in my home state of Illinois.

A few days ago, our first appeal was a magnificent success. Thanks to your support, we are well over 50% of the way to our goal of $15,000!

That means we need to raise approximately $7,000 more to fully fund our action plan to get on the ballot.

Why is this so important? Because we can give over 7 million registered voters in Illinois a real choice this November -- our campaign for people, planet and peace over profit.

Will you contribute today to help me get on the ballot in this crucial state? Your contribution will be matched up to the first $250 by federal matching funds!

You know from media coverage how important Illinois is to the duopoly parties. Well, it's just as important to usand we've faced terrible obstacles from entrenched political interests who will do anything to keep us off that ballot.

The corrupt Illinois Democratic machine has used the states onerous ballot access laws for years to suppress the Green Party--especially after Rich Whitney took over 10% of the vote in a 2006 Green run for governor. To say party hacks were shocked and scared is an understatement.

And in 2014, a legal challenge led by top Democratic Party officials successfully kicked the Illinois Greens off the state ballot, even though they had gathered more than the 25,000 signatures needed.

We cant let that happen again. But to make sure we get on the ballot in Illinois, I need your help today.

Fighting our way onto the Illinois ballot won't be easy or cheap. But the faster we reach $15,000 in funds, the faster we can unleash our volunteers and staff to get us on the ballot in time for the November election. With your help, we will not fail!

Can I count on you to pitch in today so we can give over 7 million voters in Illinois a clear choice to vote for planet and peace over profit?

Thank you for all that you do to keep our movement growing in this exciting time.

Its in our hands!

Jill Stein

PS. THIS IS SO IMPORTANTWe've qualified for federal matching funds, so anything you give up to the first $250 will be doubled by matching funds. If you maximize your impact by donating $250, your donation will be doubled to $500 without costing you another dime. If you've already given less than $250, the difference between your donations to date and $250 will be doubled. We have a place for every dollar, so please be as generous as you can. Thank you for all that you do!

Dear Leo,

Super Tuesday was a big win for oligarchy, as the Democratic Party establishment delivered over 60% of available delegates for Hillary Clinton and billionaire demagogue Donald Trump stomped to victory in 8 states.

But despite the dominance of Clinton and Trump, the millions of votes for Bernie Sanders show that Americans are hungry for sweeping changes to a broken system thats throwing workers, students, the middle class and the poor under the bus.

I agree with Bernie and his supporters that we must take our democracy back from the billionaires, win economic justice for the 99%, confront the existential threat of climate meltdown, adopt an improved Medicare For All healthcare system, provide a welcoming path to citizenship, and end racist violence in our criminal justice system.

On many issues, we must go further - for example, by canceling all student loan debt, urgently transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, nationalizing the Federal Reserve, and reforming the electoral system with measures like proportional representation. And we must roll back the military-industrial-surveillance complex that is undermining our liberty and security while bankrupting us financially and morally.

The success of the Sanders campaign has proven that in todays rapidly changing America, a populist progressive agenda only has to break into the media and the televised debates to catch on like wildfire and inspire millions to shake the foundations of a political establishment that seemed invulnerable just a few short months ago.

I applaud the courage of the millions of people who are defying the establishment by organizing and voting for Bernie Sanders, and shredding the conventional wisdom that Americans are too enamored of corporate capitalism to want an economy and a society that works for all of us.

Its sobering to see how the Democratic Party has openly used its institutional power to marginalize and push back against the Sanders campaigns heartening demonstration of grassroots democracy.

From the near-unanimous endorsement of Clinton by Democratic elected officials, to the Democratic National Committees blatant maneuvering to undermine Sanders, to the partys collaboration with liberal corporate media to marginalize Sanders campaign, the empire is striking back with all its firepower.

Super Tuesday and super delegates are just two of the Democratic Partys built-in safeguards against democracy. The Democrats anti-Sanders campaign is just the latest episode in the partys long history of sabotaging progressive rebels in their ranks - from Jesse Jackson to Dennis Kucinich and more.

The Democratic Party and corporate media are even proclaiming Clinton more electable, despite polls showing Sanders performing better in head-to-head matchups against leading Republicans. To them, electability has nothing to do with a candidates popularity among the voters, and everything to do with having the establishments stamp of approval.

Meanwhile, the rise of extremist bully Trump, a sexist bigot and the most disliked candidate in America, is the GOPs reward for its decades-long descent into oligarchy, anti-intellectualism, and proto-fascism.

Democratic Party strategists are publicly planning to sabotage Sanders, and then use fear to keep his followers in line by arguing that despite everything that Wall Street-backed Washington insider Clinton has done to betray their trust, the Republican is worse.

If the Democratic Party does succeed in anointing Hillary Clinton and slamming the door on Sanders insurgency, our campaign ensures that the growing political revolution will not be silenced by a counter-revolutionary party.

This election is showing that the political establishment is obsolete. We dont need endorsements from political insiders or big corporate donations to ignite the revolution that will take our democracy back. All we need is the courage of our convictions, and to recognize that we have critical mass to move mountains when we stand together as a broad coalition for justice.

Our campaign is building a truly democratic national party as a home for those who are committed to political revolution, and understand it needs a base to grow beyond a single election cycle. We offer a party that refuses to take money from corporations, super PACs and lobbyists, and that refuses to collaborate with the engines of economic and ecological destruction.

Unlike the flailing establishment parties, the Green movement embraces those who seek a new system that puts people, planet and peace over profit. We will not sell out the American people or future generations who will inherit the world we create.

We will continue building a force for change through Election Day and beyond. Together we will build an America, and a world, that works for all of us.

It's in our hands!

Dear Leo

The FBI is trying to force Apple to design tools to overcome the security features of the iPhone, in order to investigate an iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino shooters.

This case will determine whether governments worldwide can invade citizens privacy by forcing companies to deliberately weaken protections built into their products. Even worse, it would set a frightening precedent allowing big government to compel private companies to design products expanding government spying on private citizens.

Stand with me to call for the FBI to drop its lawsuit against Apple now!

The questionable value to the FBI investigation of breaching the security of this one device does not justify the possible exposure of millions of people to government invasion of privacy. When a copy of the tool the FBI wants Apple to create is obtained by foreign intelligence services, dictatorial regimes worldwide will be able to use it against dissidents and political opponents - not to mention American visitors and businesses.

If the FBI lawsuit succeeds, it would have a chilling effect on efforts by US-based companies to build strong privacy protection into their products.

The appetite of the FBI and CIA for data on our citizens is limitless, and this case is only the latest of their assaults upon our privacy. Real terrorists can move on to other encryption techniques that are beyond the reach of the FBI. It is the American people who will ultimately be the ones exposed by this move.

We have to accept limits on the reach of the secret police and the surveillance state. This is where we have to draw the line.

General Michael Hayden, former director of the NSA and CIA recently made this point, declaring that FBI Director Jim Comey is wrong in pushing for a backdoor to Apple's iphone, because on balance, America is more secure with unbreakable end to end encryption.

As president, I would order the FBI to cease and desist in all lawsuits of this type. They have ample investigatory options without forcing companies to create software that destroys the limited protections we have against government invasion of privacy.

Stand with me to tell the FBI: dont break our phones, drop your lawsuit against Apple now!

As Benjamin Franklin noted centuries ago, a nation that sacrifices freedom for security will wind up losing them both.

Now is the time to heed Franklins words and take a stand against the encroaching police state.

Its in our hands!

Leo -

Watching the Republican presidential debates, one can certainly lose hope in humanity. Threatening to build a wall to keep out Mexican immigrants, banning Muslims or bombing the deserts until they glow are just some of the horrifying rhetoric being thrown around. At the same time, there is a shocking lack of attention paid to climate change, income inequality, racial injustice and so much more. And on the Democratic side we see largely civilized discussions of issues that matter and even challenges to money in politics. But still, no one is talking about the real spiritual crisis in our society. It seems it shouldn't be that hard to notice given the level of discourse we are witnessing.

We need a spiritual transformation in our society, one that actually begins to tackle the quiet lives of desperation that so many people are leading. People need to have a sense of belonging, community, purpose and meaning in their lives and yet most of us are toiling away just to make ends meet with little energy left to nurture our souls, bodies or spirits. We need to build a world based on a New Bottom Line, one where love and justice and truly caring about each other and the planet are paramount.

That is why I am so excited to share with you some of the great things that are happening at local chapters around the country. The NYC NSP chapter sent a letter to Mayor DeBlasio asking him to endorse the Environmental and Social Responsibility Amendment to the US Constitution (ESRA) and gave a workshop at the The Next System conference in NYC on March 12th. For a description of their workshop, click here.

The Minneapolis Chapter gathered their efforts and brought resolutions for the Global Marshall Plan and the ESRA to their local caucuses for endorsement and inclusion on party platforms. To learn more about their efforts, please see Rick Bernardo's article below.

And here in the Bay Area, we are working with the Oakland City Council to get them to endorse a resolution in support of the ESRA.

If you would like to help with any of these efforts, please email me at cat@spiritualprogressives.org and I will put you in touch with the contact person. And if you want to get endorsements from your local city or county council in support of these resolutions or bring them to your local caucus, please email me and I can send you information to get you started. As always, if you want to start or get involved in a local chapter, let me know and we'll tell you how to do so and get you started.

Finally, we are really excited to be updating our website. Please see below for how you can donate to help us cover our costs.

And, as always, thank you for your support. We cannot do this work without your support, enthusiasm and involvement. It keeps us going both financially and spiritually, particularly in these times!

Dear Leo,

It's been a long and dark winter in the Holy Land.
Anger and hatred continue to hover over our heads like dark clouds that refuse to move on. More people feel discouraged. The young are losing hope for a better future, as they see no leadership guiding them; the old are losing hope for a dream they once carried that peace in this land is possible, everyone is becoming more entrenched in victim-hood and darkness.

So where is the hope in all this?  Within the approaching season; the Easter Season.  Therein lies the symbolism of hope.

This holy season is a time for rebirth, for a renewal in and of the Holy Land. It is a time when we pray that God opens the hearts of all those who live in the Holy Land, Palestinians, Israelis, Jews, Christians, Muslims - and make what seemed impossible possible; to transform death into life, darkness into light, and resurrect in them His hope and grace!
We at Holy Land Trust continue to do this work through many programs, with the local community and with internationals coming to the Holy Land. From training in nonviolence, understanding the effect of fear and trauma, and leadership development to protecting local farmers during Olive Harvest, organizing our 4th Annual  Bet Lahem Live Festival, and recruiting for the Palestine Summer Encounter.  We take every opportunity to bring the message of Hope to the peoples of this land throughout the year.
But we need your help. on a recent trip to the US, many people asked me what they could do to support our work. My honest answer was simply, "Please don't forget us."
We need your prayers. And we need your financial support.

As a trusted partner, I want you to know that we are so grateful for the support you have given.  We continue to present these important programs in faith during 2016, even though we are lacking sufficient funds. We need the help of those of you who believe that our work is important.
So as you prepare your heart to celebrate Easter, please pray for us!  Pray that we will be able to continue our programs. Pray that we will bring people together. Pray that hope will come to the Holy Land.
And if you are able, please give.   If you have a little extra, please consider becoming a monthly donor!  Whatever you can send will mean so much - together, we can accomplish so much with so very little!
In Peace and Love,
Sami Awad

Dear Leo --

Last weekend's chaos in Chicago shows how high the stakes are this electionand how deeply threatening Donald Trump's hate-filled rhetoric is to people of color, women, the LGBT community, Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants, and so many others oppressed by the Democratic-Republican duopoly.
I applaud the thousands of individuals who sought to peacefully protest the message of hate and fear promoted by Trump. He has been following the playbook that fascist movements have repeatedly used over the years.
The truth is, Trump appeals to people who are afraid, deeply angry, and fed up with both parties. Trumps angry supporters are themselves the victims of the ruthless corporate duopoly, but are being led to scapegoat other victims rather than blaming the real corporate predators.
On the other side, the people who protested Trump in Chicago and around the nation are crying out for change: for an end to policies that are destroying our planet and our people, and for an end to the state of constant war created by our catastrophic foreign policy.
Theres a real danger that if Trump is on the ballot in November, hell be seen as the anti-establishment candidate by millions of Americans who are fed up with a political system that has failed them for decades.
That's why it's so important that we get on the ballot in Illinois - and across the country. We need to give voters a real alternative to the establishment: our independent campaign to build an America - and a world - that works for all of us.
An Extra Effort on Our Part Today
Can Help Illinois Voters Have a Green Choice in November
Part of our response to the Chicago Trump riots must be to redouble our efforts to get on the Illinois ballot this fall.

Will you give today so we can get on the ballot in Illinois?
We are so close!
We're now within $2,500 of fully funding our $15,000 action plan for Illinois ballot access! Best of all, everything you give up to the first $250 will be doubled by Federal Matching Funds. You can double your impact effortlessly.
Getting on the ballot in Illinois will give over 7 million registered voters the opportunity to vote for a real choiceour campaign for people and planet over profit.
We've faced terrible obstacles from entrenched political interests who will do anything to keep us off that ballot. The corrupt Illinois Democratic machine has used the states onerous ballot access laws for years to suppress the Green Partyespecially after Rich Whitney took over 10% of the vote in a 2006 Green run for governor. And in 2014, a legal challenge led by top Democratic Party officials successfully kicked the Illinois Greens off the state ballot, even though they had gathered more than the 25,000 signatures needed.
We cant let that happen again.
And with your help, we won't!
Thank you for all that you do to keep our movement growing in this exciting time.
Its in our hands!
